MAKYON bolted up at Hamilton in June, prompting tilts at the Coventry Stakes and in Listed company at Sandown. Those were not successful, but he could be too good for this field. Clay Regazzoni drops in class after finishing in midfield in the Super Sprint at Newbury nine days ago, while Solemn Pledge and Summer Heights are interesting debutants who are worth a second glance.
Prediction : 1st Makyon 2nd Clay Regazzoni 3rd Solemn Pledge

With plenty of rain in the forecast, Cardaw Lily has to be respected as she seems best with give in the ground, while Star Cracker put in a much-improved performance on good to soft here last time. Arogo may have dropped to a feasible mark and is relatively unexposed, but FOREVER A LADY was beaten less than two lengths into fifth over 7f here latest and could relish the drop in trip.
Prediction : 1st Forever A Lady 2nd Cardaw Lily 3rd Star Cracker

Hugoigo is in form so could be a factor despite being 4lb out of the handicap, while Forewarning ran well for second at Pontefract and is only 2lb higher here. A pair of three-year-olds could the ones to focus on, though. Land Of Oz won well over 1m6f at Yarmouth and shapes as though this trip would suit, but LORD LAMINGTON gets another chance as he was unlucky to bump into one at Catterick last time and a 1lb drop for that could prove lenient.
Prediction : 1st Lord Lamington 2nd Land Of Oz 3rd Forewarning

ZYLAN is rated 89 on the all-weather and is evidently better on that surface, but he ran well for second off a mark of 72 at Catterick last time and gets another chance off the same rating here. Luzum followed up a Thirsk win with a solid effort at Chester and may be happier on a more conventional track, while Knowing Glance was not disgraced at Doncaster last time and is back to the same mark as when second at Thirsk in May.
Prediction : 1st Zylan 2nd Luzum 3rd Knowing Glance

JACKAMUNDO has been in fantastic form of late, winning nicely at Nottingham in May before strolling to a five-length success at Haydock last month. Soft ground suits best, so he will need plenty of rain, but he can get the better of course specialist Nicholas T here. Borodin won narrowly at Ripon last time and is interesting despite a 5lb hike.
Prediction : 1st Jackamundo 2nd Nicholas T 3rd Borodin

Strong Steps has to be considered after filling the runner-up spot on his last two starts, while Zodiakos is not the most consistent in terms of results, but has a pair of wins to his name this season, both with give in the ground. VIVE LA DIFFERENCE gets the vote, though, as he was not beaten far over this trip at Ripon and looks capable of another big run off the same mark.
Prediction : 1st Vive La Difference 2nd Strong Steps 3rd Zodiakos

17:05 Ayr

Piazon followed up a close second at Redcar with a solid enough third at Musselburgh last time and can go close again, while Popping Corks has shown some reasonable form over this trip at Hamilton and this C&D recently. JACOB'S PILLOW has been competing over a furlong further of late, but the way he led his group throughout when second overall here last time suggests that a shorter trip and smaller field will suit.
Prediction : 1st Jacobs Pillow 2nd Piazon 3rd Popping Corks
