APERITIF has been successful in both previous starts in handicap company and a 6lb rise in the ratings for the most recent of those victories may not be enough to stop her from racking up the hat-trick today. Gregorian Girl hit the crossbar last time out at Kempton and she should be in the mix once again today. Others to consider are Stallone and Di Matteo.
Prediction : 1st Aperitif 2nd Gregorian Girl 3rd Stallone

CHICAGO DOLL improved for the step up to 1m2f when winning at Leicester last month and the way she won that day suggests that there may be further progression forthcoming over this trip. Cambric may have found the ground to be too quick for her last time out and she is better judged on her previous success at Salisbury. The shortlist is completed by Navigate By Stars, Potters Lady Jane and Swansdown.
Prediction : 1st Chicago Doll 2nd Cambric 3rd Swansdown

William Buick makes his return to action after injury and newcomer LAZULI can provide him with a winning return. The Gimcrack entrant is related to plenty of winners and represents a trainer with an excellent record at this track with juveniles. Lincoln Blue has a penalty to contend with after opening his account at Chester 34 days ago, while Skontonovski holds a few fancy entries and a big run from the Harbour Watch colt on debut would be no surprise.
Prediction : 1st Lazuli 2nd Lincoln Blue 3rd Skontonovski

Dragons Voice remains in top form having scored at Windsor before finding one too good at Thirsk 45 days ago, while Mandarin had been shaping as though his turn might be near and duly took advantage of a nice opening last month. Slight preference, though, is for Newbury hero FRONTISPIECE. A 3lb rise doesn't look too harsh for that and the five-year-old is open to greater improvement still on just his fourth start for Amanda Perrett.
Prediction : 1st Frontispiece 2nd Dragons Voice 3rd Mandarin

FIGHTING TEMERAIRE built on his Lingfield success in June to make it back-to-back victories when successful over course and distance last time. He had just over two lengths in hand on that occasion and is right at the head of the shortlist once again, looking for a hat-trick, following a fair 7lb rise. Stablemate Daddy's Daughter is respected and ran well here when last seen, while the Godolphin candidate Jalaad wasn't beaten far at Doncaster and is interesting back amongst the handicap ranks. Chester second Zeyzoun is another to note, along with Club Tropicana, who has been in good order of late and drops back in trip now in first-time cheekpieces.
Prediction : 1st Fighting Temeraire 2nd Daddys Daughter 3rd Jalaad

It is hard to get away from Charlie Appleby's ART SONG, who cost 800,000 dollars and beat a pair of subsequent winners when obliging favourite backers on his debut at Kempton in October. He reappears under a penalty for that success and looks set to fight it out for the prize money with Loving Glance, who will have learnt plenty when going down by just a neck over track and trip on debut. Godolphin's hand is strengthened by Chester third Dubai Discovery, who has undergone wind surgery in the interim, while Magical Rhythms has shown potential in her two outings so far and could have more in the locker.
Prediction : 1st Art Song 2nd Loving Glance 3rd Magical Rhythms

TAWNY PORT was successful over five furlongs at Windsor most recently and is expected to go very close off a 4lb higher mark, with Oisin Murphy back in the saddle. Emily Goldfinch was only beaten narrowly when looking to make it back-to-back C&D victories last month and appears a must for the shortlst continuing her thriving partnership with Silvestre De Sousa. Suzi's Connoisseur is another to take seriously.
Prediction : 1st Tawny Port 2nd Emily Goldfinch 3rd Suzis Connoisseur
