MILD ILLUSION has filled the runner-up spot on both starts so far, with the latest of those coming over this course and distance, and Johnny Portman's charge looks capable of going one better tonight. Queen Salamah was a couple of places behind the selection here, but that was her debut so she could well improve enough to challenge. Epsom Faithfull and Santorini Sal, fifth in the aforementioned contest, are others to note.

This race should prove easier than the last three assignments for Vibrant Chords, but he didn't show too much in those competitive events, so LITTLE BOY BLUE gets the vote. Beaten just half a length into second at Epsom last time, Bill Turner's charge is evidently in fine form and a 2lb rise for that effort looks fair. Citron Major got within three-parts of a length of success latest and gets another chance off the same mark.

Top Beak has to be considered a danger if in the same form as when finishing second at Brighton 11 months ago when last seen, while Il Sicario was only two lengths off the winner when fourth at Chepstow last time and appears to be heading the right way. Sarasota has been running with credit in plating company of late, but preference is for ESSENAITCH, who was a decent third at Chepstow latest and a 2lb drop for that looks generous.

WHISPERING BEAUTY produced an excellent display from the front to score at Newmarket last time and, despite having to give weight all round, William Haggas' charge could dominate proceedings again. Gallatin looks the pick of the remainder who've already tasted racecourse action after her fourth at Chelmsford, while Strelka is a half-sister to Derby and Arc winner Workforce, so has to be considered on debut for Ralph Beckett.

Wild Hope scored narrowly at Ayr last time and a 1lb rise for that effort is unlikely to pose too many problems, while Aussie View is 1lb lower than when running a respectable race in midfield at Doncaster on her first start in seven months when last seen in May. Hold Still and Barossa Red have claims, but HOUSE OF KINGS finished on the heels of the winner at Newmarket last month and a 1lb drop for that gives him a real chance.

BASHIBA has run a pair of solid races over this trip recently, both at Doncaster, and he has slipped to an attractive mark. Lethal Angel has been a model of consistency so far this season and is likely to make her presence felt, while Alisia R was well beaten in a classified stakes contest at Musselburgh latest but might be better judged on her handicap success at the Scottish track the time before.
