TOMBSTONE struggled in the Galway Hurdle last time but his previous run in a Grade 3 at Tipperary suggests that he can still win a race of this nature. Conrad Hastings won a chase off a mark of 140 two starts ago and he would be a threat if transferring that form to hurdles, while Westland Row has to be respected having also won over fences recently.

In an open race the marginal preference is for HARD BOUGHT, whose last few efforts over fences have been encouraging, including when runner-up at Wexford last time. Something Sweet struggled in a valuable race at Galway 10 days ago but she should not be underestimated having won at Clonmel in June. Others to note are Thatbeatsbanagher, Luis Van Zandt and Myladyrose.

GUIRI is an interesting recruit to these shores for J P McManus and Jessica Harrington and could make his hurdling debut a winning one. The four-year-old has been located a nice opening and might prove too strong for Jack Hackett, who was a solid fourth in a Galway bumper six days ago. Lough Sewdy has shown potential in this sphere but might be seen to better effect once handicapping.

EAMON HIGH simply wasn't quite good enough here last month, but he faces an easier task tonight and a first-time tongue-tie could spark some improvement. Henry De Bromhead has won three of the last six renewals and his participant this year appeals more than City Hall, who has been knocking on the door over hurdles. Make My Heart Fly was third in a Galway Grade 3 nine days ago and completes the list of likely win contenders.

ROCKY COURT was a decent second when last seen in this sphere and, despite a shade disappointing on the Flat since, the 10-year-old could go one better off a 1lb higher mark. Fellow veteran Lucky Pat is a C&D winner who has made the podium twice recently, including at the Galway Festival last time, while the consistent Mega Mindy is tried in a tongue-tie and shouldn't be ignored. Ivanovich Gorbatov looks the pick of J P McManus' quartet.

RIAN THOMAS arguably produced a career-best performance when runner-up on his return to the track last month and Gordon Elliott's six-year-old could build on that to go one better and open his account. Willie Mullins' newcomer Mountainmore requires plenty of respect and consideration, while As High Say was much improved on her second start over hurdles last month and is interesting on her bumper debut/first outing for Henry De Bromhead.
