UK Horse Racing Tips: Thirsk

B FIFTY TWO is showing no signs of age catching up with him and, if anything, is thriving on his racing. He almost supplemented last week's Catterick triumph when returning there on Monday and is worth sticking with. Mr Greenlight was a disappointing favourite in the first of those contests but can't be written off just yet. Jacob's Pillow is interesting with Serena Brotherton up top, with Patrick and Mansfield others to consider.

Three Coins is better than she showed in a Newmarket nursery but is vulnerable to a less exposed rival such as SOARING STAR. Kevin Ryan's youngster made a debut full of promise when a close-up third at Doncaster, and it should be a case of onwards and upwards. Connections of Red Treble will have been happy with her initial effort, while Fast Deal went close to springing a Catterick surprise and is going in the right direction.

ALOTABOTTLE has thrived for the switch to the Kevin Ryan team, justifying favouritism at Epsom before supplementing those gains just five days later at Catterick. He has a penalty to contend with but remains 3lb well-in compared to his revised rating, so the hat-trick beckons. Dream of Honour was an expensive failure at Beverley but surely won't remain a maiden for too much longer. Stronsay and Abie's Hollow round out the shortlist.

Mogsy's rating of 85 is due to his latest second behind a subsequent scorer, but that did come out of the blue a bit so perhaps a chance can be taken on the fitness of MONTATHAM. The William Haggas-trained son of Showcasing went into quite a few notebooks when third on his Newbury debut last autumn, and Haggas did supply the horse who beat Mogsy at Haydock. Sils Maria is probably best of the rest.

RED PIKE's return to the winner's enclosure coincided with him encountering testing conditions at Musselburgh and he has been hit with a 6lb hike for that dominant display, so Bryan Smart is wise to get him out under a 4lb penalty. Hawaam is up 8lb for his C&D success but deserves it thanks to the authority he stamped on that sprint. Show Palace also struck on his latest outing, at Nottingham, and Nibras Again and Thirlmere are respected too.

A wind operation did the trick for SPIORAD because he absolutely hosed up at Redcar last weekend. The assessor has taken revenge by way of a 12lb rise, but David O'Meara's gelding is able to compete here under a 5lb penalty and is fancied to capitalise. Donnelly's Rainbow has won two of his last three but seems most effective over 7f so maybe bigger dangers come in the shape of Ayr winners Start Time and Alfa McGuire.

TRUE ROMANCE has come into his own as a five-year-old and made it two from two for his 2019 Flat campaign with a decisive victory at Catterick. There is still plenty of manoeuvre with regard to his rating, especially under his penalty, and he could rack up a sequence. Majeste has never won over further than 1m1f, but stayed 1m3f well enough at Carlisle. Ad Libitum has slipped to an attractive mark, and Dew Pond can't be ruled out either.
