However, it may be worth siding with JUAN ELCANO, who nearly made it two from two in the Group 2 Superlative Stakes last time and could be the class act in this field.

Sextant is looking for a hat-trick and has been a leading performer in handicaps this season, while Sameem is another who has been tasting success of late, securing a Listed victory at Hamilton when last sighted.

Providing the ground doesn't get too deep, this could be the perfect opportunity for RIPP ORF to get back on track and the popular five-year-old is 1lb lower than when staying on for fourth in a hot Ascot handicap last time. George William has returned in good order this term and has the chance to better his track and trip second last month, while Graphite Storm was on the scoresheet at Newmarket last time and a 3lb rise doesn't rule out a follow up. The front-running Love Dreams and Breath Of Air are others to note.

Sir Dancealot accounted for Hey Gaman in the Lennox at Goodwood last month, but that form isn't sure to be confirmed at this track and it wouldn't be a surprise if it was actually reversed. Donjuan Triumphant and Librisa Breeze would both appreciate any further rainfall, but this can go the way of John Quinn's SAFE VOYAGE. Third behind Hey Gaman and recent French Group 1 winner Romanised at the Curragh four weeks ago, he remains on the upgrade and could prove difficult to beat.

A 4lb rise doesn't appear too harsh, and the booking of Andrea Atzeni is a positive one for a horse who likes to challenge late in the day. Ocala has won two of her last four races, while Pour Me A Drink showed his true colours when second behind a potentially nice type at Sandown 63 days ago.

Breathable arrives on a hat-trick after victories at Pontefract and Carlisle, while Cry Wolf would make some appeal if the ground dried up.
