Tim Easterby's gelding could better his last effort at Thirsk now back over his optimum distance. Alaadel was narrowly beaten by Dalton on testing ground at Nottingham on his seasonal bow and appears fairly handicapped, while Pipers Note cannot be ignored on his favourite stomping ground, though he ideally prefers faster conditions.

Funny Man arrives on a four-timer and should put up plenty of resistance, as could Five Helmets, who has progressed as he has stepped up in trip.
