D DAY took a big step forward from his Salisbury debut when scoring in good style at Newbury earlier in the month and that performance suggested he would be capable of defying a penalty. Restless Endeavour finished second at Chelmsford on Friday and is respected despite a quick turnaround, while Rajguru and Robert Frost appear best of the remainder based on their meeting at Chelmsford 12 days ago.
Prediction : 1st D Day 2nd Restless Endeavour 3rd Rajguru

MOJAVE improved from his debut last December when finishing second at Windsor in May, and the son of Dream Ahead has the scope for further improvement as he steps up to 1m4f for the first time. Inclyne ran up to her best when filling the runner-up spot at Chester and she enters the reckoning along with Voice Of Calm, who placed on her second outing on the Lingfield turf.
Prediction : 1st Mojave 2nd Inclyne 3rd Voice Of Calm

LAPIDARY made it two on the bounce when displaying a good attitude on her handicap debut here over a furlong shorter, and the daughter of Kodiac could have more to offer as she returns to 7f. To The Moon is capable of improving on what she has achieved in two starts this campaign, while handicap debutant Angel Mead is respected following her return to action at Salisbury last month.
Prediction : 1st Lapidary 2nd To The Moon 3rd Angel Mead

FREEROLLING shaped as though the drop to a mile would benefit him when third over Doncaster's 1m2f and with his only previous success coming on the all-weather, he should have more to offer on this surface. Mawakib returns to the scene of his most recent victory, which came two outings ago, and the step up in trip could yield further progression. Alfurat River is respected on his return to action, with his stable currently in excellent form.
Prediction : 1st Freerolling 2nd Mawakib 3rd Alfurat River

DISTANT CHIMES has been raised 17lb since mid-July, winning three times in the process, but is typically progressive for Sir Mark Prescott and may have more improvement to come now trying 2m for the first time. The four-year-old is expected to outstay Highland Sky, who travelled well into contention before finding a couple of younger rivals too good at Yarmouth. General Zoff is a reliable yardstick at this sort of level.
Prediction : 1st Distant Chimes 2nd Highland Sky 3rd General Zoff

Most of these were disappointing last time out, but the suspicion is that TRAVEL ON will bounce back and prove better than his handicap mark of 95 given time. The three-year-old has been gelded, wears first-time cheekpieces and tries a mile and a half for the second time following a 104-day break, and can return to winning ways. Deal A Dollar couldn't get competitive on his handicap debut at Goodwood but previously shaped with promise in novice company. Zuba can land third spot.
Prediction : 1st Travel On 2nd Deal A Dollar 3rd Zuba

Stormbomber has found just one too good the last twice and should make the frame again off what appears a fair handicap mark, although he could be worth a try over middle distances and might be outpaced back over 7f. Astrospeed ran as though something was amiss at Leicester when last seen in April and could bounce back, but INDIAN VICEROY is a more solid option. Second over C&D a fortnight ago, this is a nice opportunity for compensation.
Prediction : 1st Indian Viceroy 2nd Stormbomber 3rd Astrospeed
