Oakenshield's owner won this last season and the Kevin Ryan-trained newcomer, who cost 200,000 guineas, is of interest, while fellow debutant Moosmee is another six-figure buy who merits respect hailing from William Haggas' high-class stable.

PANIC ROOM has posted two respectable efforts over 6f in his career so far and it is interesting that Tom Dascombe has chosen a venue he enjoys plenty of success at as the place to step the 60,000-pound buy up to a mile in first-time cheekpieces. Grand Bazaar cost 210,000 guineas and John Gosden's Golden Horn colt is of real interest on debut, while Trumpets Call and Caledonian Crusade look to build on what they have shown on the track so far.

Specialise has enjoyed herself in the handicap ranks so far, winning at Lingfield before narrowly failing to make it back-to-back triumphs at Chelmsford when last seen, and she returns after a short break off just a 2lb higher mark. Tom Dascombe's record here makes Katiesheidinlisa foolish to completely ignore, while Amber Spark was an encouraging third last time. However, preference is for ILLUMINED, who has been creating a good impression over 1m4f on the all-weather and drops back in trip for her handicap debut.

SINJAARI bounced back after a below par effort at Royal Ascot when third in a 1m2f Goodwood handicap to Forest Of Dean, who has subsequently franked the form with an authoritative display at York, and the manner of that performance suggested he was worth another try back up in distance. Spanish Archer improved considerably from his return to produce a career-best performance at Doncaster last month and he is respected off a 4lb higher rating, while the consistent Epaulement cannot be discounted having placed over a similar trip here in the Old Newton Cup two outings ago.

WAR BRIGADE has run some good races in defeat this season, including when second at Ripon on his penultimate outing, and the change of headgear to a visor, along with the reapplication of a tongue-tie (worn over hurdles in the past), could see Ian Williams' gelding return to winning ways. First Dance went close on her latest start at Newcastle and is likely to give another good account, while the booking of Simon Walker earns Deinonychus a place on the shortlist.
