Ballymoy is six from 10 over hurdles, earning him a current rating of 151, and warrants plenty of respect on his first outing over fences, but NUBE NEGRA gets the vote representing last year's winning trainer. A high-class gelding himself, finishing third in the 2018 Fred Winter and ending last season with a creditable sixth-placed finish in the Scottish Champion Hurdle, he looks sure to go close if taking to the larger obstacles. You could easily make a case for Equus Amadeus, Thistle Do Nicely and Commanche Red as well in a cracking beginners' chase.

PRABENI was deemed good enough to run in the Boodles Juvenile Handicap Hurdle at Cheltenham earlier in the year and could progress this season after shaping like he would improve for the run when fourth on his Uttoxeter reappearance three weeks ago. The four-year-old is unexposed over this trip and could take advantage his fair mark of 124. Stony Stream failed in his hat-trick bid at Cartmel last time but may appreciate this more conventional track, while Hexham scorer Eva's Oskar is another to note.

CHASMA was only beaten by a solid yardstick when last seen at Bangor in August and could go one better for Dan Skelton. The nine-year-old might not be the best handicapped in the field, but could put her race-fitness to good use. For Good Measure doesn't win as often as he should and was outbattled here nine days ago, while Molly Childers and Dentley De Mee are others to take seriously despite their respective absences.

Furia D'Oudairies put in a career-best performance when second at Huntingdon 198 days ago, while similar sentiments apply to Timassini, who also put in the strongest performance of her career when finding just one too good at Uttoxeter in a handicap last month. Preference, though, is for recent Sedgefield winner BANNIXTOWN GLORY. This is a greater test, but she is improving with experience and can take this before moving back up in distance.

The five-year-old did enough to convince connections to shell out 175,000 pounds at the sales and represents a trainer with a good bumper record here. Thais Toir is related to some nice French types and his handler knows the time of day with runners in this sphere, while Arcadian Spring could prove best of the remainder.
