Winning pointer LUCKY FLIGHT was deemed promising enough for a trip to the Punchestown Festival on his first appearance for Lucinda Russell and although he was found wanting there, he made a successful hurdling bow on his return to action over C&D. He appears to be a useful prospect and can defy his penalty. Wilhelm Vonvenster carries famous colours and while he has been disappointing so far, he can't be written off yet. Kingrullah was a long way behind Lucky Flight last time but might be the pick of the remainder.

Nicky Henderson took a little while to get a win out of Dieu Benisse and once he did, at Ffos Las in May, he sold her to Phil Kirby. She looks the type the North Yorkshire handler can do well with, but WHISKEY AND WATER might be better treated because he gets a handy weight-for-age allowance and was fourth in a well-contested Flat handicap at Musselburgh, having previously shown plenty of potential during his first NH campaign. Martila goes well here and will be sharper for her Cartmel comeback, while Point Break has had wind surgery prior to this handicap debut.

KAIZER sprung a surprise on his jumping bow at Kelso and following a handful of solid efforts on the level subsequently, made light of his mark in that code with a bloodless triumph at Musselburgh last week. Jumping should be his game, though, and he can make it two from two. Wax And Wane was rated in the high 80s on the Flat but was disappointing at Warwick on his first foray into this sphere. There is still time for him to show what he is capable of, but Highway Companion may be the primary danger judging on two good runs in bumpers last term.

Simply Ned is proven under these conditions and commands respect on his first start since beating Footpad in Grade 1 company at Leopardstown over Christmas. Theo has been raised 2lb for rattling the crossbar at Worcester and could also take a hand.
