Gordon Elliott and Gigginstown teamed up to win this race 12 months ago and that partnership could be successful again, this time with GUN DIGGER. He was set some stiff assignments towards the back end of last term, but his form from earlier in the season shows that he's a useful operator over fences and this represents a fantastic opportunity for him to regain the winning thread. The Red Menace, switching back to fences from hurdles, warrants respect representing the trainer/jockey combination that won this contest in 2016 and 2017, while Drumacoo is a smart operator on his day.

The 2018 Triumph Hurdle third Sayo clearly has plenty of ability and has to be respected, but he looked anything but a natural on his chasing debut at Listowel and there could be value in taking him on. Gigginstown have a couple of solid contenders in Dis Donc and Final List, while Stormey finished second in a similar C&D event prior to a solid fourth behind the useful Ordinary World at Ballinrobe. However, four lengths behind Stormey in the aforementioned track-and-trip event was FINE BRUNELLO and he could turn the tables en route to victory. Joseph O'Brien's charge is much better off at today's weights and remains open to greater improvement.
