RESERVE TANK was expertly brought to the boil over hurdles last term with his season ending with a pair of Grade 1 victories at Aintree and Punchestown in the spring. He looks an exciting prospect to take over the larger obstacles and could enhance Colin Tizzard's record in a race he has won with Cue Card and Finian's Oscar in the past. Secret Investor won the Persian War Hurdle at this meeting 12 months ago and was a winner of a Grade 2 over the larger obstacles at Ayr in the spring. He is just one half of a strong Paul Nicholls challenge, with the talented mare Posh Trish also engaged.

Garo De Juilley is only 3lb higher than when landing this prize at 25/1 last year, but there is a talented cast assembled in opposition as he bids to defend his crown. Champagne Court, Coolanly and Didtheyleaveuoutto could all have more to come in the handicap ranks, but a chance is taken on the well-regarded INDEFATIGABLE. The latter was only a neck away from lowering the colours of Lady Buttons in a Doncaster Grade 2 in January and impressed in a Listed contest at Cheltenham when last seen.

Paul Nicholls has won the last two runnings of this race and looks to land the hat-trick with GLENLIVET, a 52,000-euro buy who is a brother to five-time winner Knockgraffon. Cubao looked useful when winning on debut at Ludlow in May, with Gastara's track-and-trip second in April also respected. It will be interesting to see what the market says about Buckhorn George, Everglow and Oscars Moonshine, who all represent top yards on debut, while Tom Lacey unleashed the useful Kateson in this race in 2017 and saddles Saint Arvans today.
