OLEG made a winning chase debut at Wincanton 11 days ago and is expected to give a good account now bidding to overcome a 6lb rise. The Flying Sofa has been off the track since landing a maiden hurdle at Plumpton in the spring and is worth a market check now tackling the larger obstacles for the first time. Celtic Joy picked up minor money over a similar trip at Stratford last time and could also feasibly figure.

PACIFY continues to steamroller all opposition put in his path over hurdles and made it 4-4 for Jamie Snowden when landing a novice heat under a penalty at Stratford last month. Rated 100 on the Flat, the former Ralph Beckett inmate is expected to go well on these terms now pitched into Listed company. Longhouse Sale is closely matched with the selection at the weights and could put up most resistance, though any money for the returning Birds Of Prey would also be notable.

TIDAL WATCH bumped into a resurgent Theflyingportrait when second at Kelso off this rating last month and before that had fallen with the race at his mercy at Newton Abbot, coming to grief when eight lengths clear at the last. Those performances mark Jonjo O'Neill's five-year-old out as a winner in waiting and he has scored at this course over hurdles. Snapdragon Fire was beaten less than a length on his chasing debut at Southwell, with the pick of his hurdles form putting him firmly in the picture here, while Solar Impulse performed well over track and trip when getting within two lengths of Dolos in May and is 1lb lower this time around.

ITCHY FEET got the better of Grand Sancy by just over two lengths when they met in the Listed novice event on this card 12 months ago and it is interesting that they both reappear over the same course and distance having gone on to play a leading role in the novice ranks last season. Not much is likely to separate them once again, but with Grand Sancy having to shoulder a 6lb penalty for his Grade 2 Kingwell Hurdle victory, slight preference is for Olly Murphy's five-year-old, whose performances in Grade 1 contests in the spring give him the edge. No one would begrudge the consistent Silver Streak his day in the sun and the Champion Hurdle third has to be feared, while Sofia's Rock wasn't beaten far in a competitive handicap in May and can't be completely ignored.

LAND LEAGUE ran a cracker when second behind last year's winner of this race, Elkstone, at Huntingdon earlier this month, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see Stuart Edmunds' charge strike on his second outing since a wind operation. This step up in trip should help the eight-year-old, and he can prove too hot to handle for Guerrilla Tactics, who stayed well over further when finding one too good at Newton Abbot four weeks ago. Fontwell hero Fr Humphrey is also respected.

ZYON finished third behind the classy Emitom when last seen in a bumper 11 months ago, and could be a force to be reckoned with over hurdles this season for Paul Nicholls. This step up in trip is expected to suit and he can outstay Mason Jar, who won despite a couple of sloppy jumps at Uttoxeter two weeks ago. House Island ran in a Grade 1 Punchestown bumper in May for Paul Webber and is also well worth noting.
