Joseph O'Brien's pair of course-and-distance winner Syrena and Little Clarinet are others with possibilities.

POCOTALIGO built on a near-miss here over a mile to take the spoils over course and distance on his first outing for Adrian McGuinness earlier this month and the three-year-old could build on that now handicapping. Denis Hogan holds a strong hand with useful course winners Sir Ottoman and Kasbah, with Outside Inside shaping nicely over the track and trip recently and another to note.

A switch to the all-weather could do the trick for WAR LEADER, a brother to Group 1 winner Lancaster Bomber who has shaped better than the bare results would suggest so far and could enjoy the drop to the minimum distance. The form of Not Now Zeb's Naas victory over The King Of Kells looks rock solid and he hasn't been disgraced since, while Tinkerbells Effect, third in that contest, is one of two from Joseph O'Brien to consider, along with handicap debutant Liquor Scholar.

THAMES RIVER picked up a silver medal on debut here over 7f earlier this month and Joseph O'Brien's Free Eagle colt, who is a half-brother to the Group 1-winning Barney Roy, could be the answer stepping up to a mile. The well-related Nayef colt Classify wasn't disgraced on his first outing at Tipperary and could enjoy the drop back in trip here, while Sliabh Aughty was only denied by a neck here last month and has to be taken seriously.

BELLICK wasn't ideally suited by the Laytown experience 44 days ago and could bounce back on this more familiar territory for John McConnell. The four-year-old was previously second in a competitive Cork handicap and isn't badly treated off 54 under veteran rider Kevin Manning. Ken's Sam's probably found the ground soft enough at Fairyhouse four weeks ago and could do better this time, while Cappadocia is closely matched on form with that rival and is another to be interested in.

Hazel Bay has had a few chances now to strike and was particularly disappointing when beaten 10 lengths at Galway last time out in August, while Elizabeth Way took a backwards step in her development when easily beaten at Bellewstown in the summer. DEFILADE has also enjoyed a long break, but the Bated Breath colt appears to be on the upgrade and the horse who beat him at Tipperary 149 days ago has won again since.

PROSECUTION might not need to improve much on his latest second-placed effort at the Curragh to land the spoils. He has a lot less on his plate reverting to the all-weather for this assignment and should be able to account for For Your Eyes, who produced arguably a career-best effort on her all-weather bow here recently in first-time cheekpieces. Latchet is another to watch out for.

CAUTIOUS APPROACH got back to winning ways in good style here three weeks ago and a 5lb rise might not be enough to prevent her going in again. Unexposed over the trip, she can get the better of Eria, who is surely better than what she's shown thus far for a powerful yard, and Cache Queen, who proved her course success last month was no fluke when finishing a close-up third off 7lb higher latest.
