William Haggas' well-bred filly has been costly to follow this campaign but may not have been staying middle-distances.

Aberffraw has also shown a race such as this is within range, but perhaps GLAER can get make a successful debut. The son of Siyouni is out of a mare who reached the frame in a couple of French Classics, and John Gosden is no stranger to starting a good one off at this venue.

BE PROUD is effective over a variety of distances and handled the drop to the minimum well when just denied at this venue last week, with Hard Solution just behind him. The handicapper responded with a 1lb hike but that doesn't come into effect yet, so Jim Goldie's charge is fancied to go one better. Wind surgery has sparked Kyllachy Warrior back into life, and Qaaraat and Hassaad have to be considered closely too.

Aidan O'Brien doesn't quite dominate this field in the manner that he would have at Doncaster six days ago, but the legendary Irish handler, who has claimed this prize for the last two years with eventual Guineas heroes, still has five of the 12 runners. Another star could emerge here, with Group 2 winner MOGUL following a familiar path. The Galileo colt made it all look so easy at Leopardstown 48 days ago and is fancied to prove too strong for his stablemates, of which Innisfree is the main threat. Kameko, who will welcome some British company in this rescheduled event, makes some appeal, while Kinross, so impressive when making a winning debut at Newmarket last month, is another to be excited about.

HMS PRESIDENT displayed improvement from his Chepstow debut when fourth at Kempton just over three weeks ago and could take another step forward in his development. The Excelebration colt is related to plenty of winners, including on artificial surfaces, and can find more now trying a mile for the first time. Glenties has found just one too good in each of his two career starts, while Mrs Upjohn could prove best of the newcomers representing Archie Watson.

William Haggas took this prize last year and, given that he is 16-41 with three-year-old runners at this venue since the Tapeta track opened, the utmost respect is merited for DESERT CARAVAN. His dam was twice a winner in these colours, and this appears to be a nice opening in which to strike. Fortamour won over 7f here in September and could improve now trying a mile, while Bobby Shaft, second at Redcar when last witnessed, is interesting back from a 207-day layoff.

Esprit De Corps hasn't won since April 2017, but was only beaten three-parts of a length when second at Southwell 22 days ago and merits respect. Harvest Day has been in good form and shouldn't be far away at a track she likes, but CASTLE QUARTER gets the nod. Seb Spencer's gelding travelled smoothly when scoring in first-time blinkers (worn again) over C&D last month and a 4lb rise might not be enough to stop him following up.

One One Seven ran flat when attempting to win for the second time in his last three starts 30 days ago but might be worth another chance, while Patrick, a back-to-form fourth at Kempton latest, merits respect dropping in trip with the cheekpieces back on. However, the tentative vote goes to KIBAAR, who is 4lb below his last winning mark and was much better when fifth at Kempton recently.
