Nigel Twiston-Davies' charge previously showed a nice attitude when second in a Listed handicap hurdle at the same track, and won't mind this step up in distance. Pingshou won a Grade 1 as a novice hurdler and could be fairly handicapped in this sphere, while Jammy George needs a market check following a wind operation.

Foxtrot Racing and Dr Richard Newland teamed up to land this prize 12 months ago and appear to have another outstanding candidate in the shape of CAID DU LIN. Second on his reappearance at Chepstow after a six-month break, the seven-year-old handles varying ground and is likely to have had this as a target for a while. The Last Day handles testing ground and is on a dangerous mark of 131, while Speredek, second behind the selection here last season, is also taken seriously.

Last seen finishing fifth in the County Hurdle at Cheltenham, the five-year-old was previously second in a valuable handicap here off 5lb lower in December and looks open to more progression. Adjali was fourth in a Grade 1 at Aintree in April and should be slicing through the field late, while Red Force One, a Fakenham winner on reappearance, adds further spice to the race.

VINNDICATION claimed a Grade 2 novice chase at the course last December and has long shaped as though he would benefit from the step up to 3m. A wind operation, combined with a first-time tongue-tie on his handicap debut, could see Kim Bailey's gelding make a winning return. Mister Malarky took the Reynoldstown over C&D in February and followed that up with fine efforts at Cheltenham and Aintree. He might just need his first run of the campaign, with bigger targets ahead of him, so the main dangers could prove to be Springtown Lake, who has a fine record fresh, and Relentless Dreamer, who shaped well on his return at Chepstow.
