KYLLACHYS TALE has been in fine form on turf, winning at Ffos Las before almost following up at Brighton, and he has struck on the all-weather before, so that isn't a concern. He is just preferred to Pempie, who progressed nicely during the spring and has had a wind operation since disappointing at Sandown in July. Sheila's Showcase burst back into life when a close-up third at Wolverhampton and could also take a hand in the finish.

COLONEL SLADE hasn't looked back since joining Phillip Makin, supplementing his Newcastle success on debut for the stable when following up at Wolverhampton. He is up another 7lb but is worth sticking with now the penny has dropped. Gregorian Girl was rewarded for her consistency with a C&D victory, but maybe River Dawn will give the selection most to think about on his first appearance since triumphing at Brighton in July.

ARDIENTE made a successful debut over 7f here just under a year ago, but has been restricted to just the one outing in 2019. That resulted in a very promising third at Newmarket, though, and the two who finished ahead of her are rated in the mid-to-high 80s. Levanter made good progress between her first two starts but the one to be wary of is Godolphin newcomer Perfect Winter, who is out of a Listed winner.

Diamond Oasis was promising for Saeed bin Suroor earlier in the year but she hasn't been seen since April, since when she has joined the Hugo Palmer team. With that absence in mind, the safest bet would appear to be her former stable companion JALAAD, who seems happiest on an artificial surface and proved as much with a Newcastle win, for which he has been raised 5lb. Dargel likes the Polytrack and is a threat to all after an excellent third at Chelmsford.

Establish stepped forward from his satisfactory introduction to beat all bar the promising Raaeq at Newbury. A day earlier at the Berkshire venue, however, CODE OF CONDUCT made a debut full of promise in the Haynes, Hanson & Clark, catching many an eye in the closing stages to take fifth, beaten only four lengths. He looks a bright middle-distance prospect for The Queen and can head into winter quarters on a high. Canagat did nothing wrong at Chelmsford, while Power Of Time cost 900,000gns as a yearling so commands attention first time out.

Royal Line may not quite have stayed 2m at Ascot on Champions Day but claimed the September Stakes over this C&D prior to it. His stablemate Weekender is three from three on the all-weather but was behind Loxley when they took minor honours in Newmarket's Godolphin Stakes. YOUNG RASCAL has been gelded since struggling in the Jockey Club Stakes back in May, but he returned from a similar layoff to pick up a couple of Group 3s around this time last year so is expected to be forward enough to go close.

Maximum Effect got on the scoresheet in a track-and-trip maiden but had to settle for third off a 2lb lower figure on his only previous handicap appearance. Dubious Affair was fourth behind him last time but is 5lb better off so should finish closer. Sashenka and Freckles arrive in good heart but of most interest are a couple of handicap debutants. Better is anticipated from Perfect Number, but ROYAL STAR was only sixth lengths or so adrift of Star Catcher at Newbury earlier in the year so a mark of 76 could underestimate her.

Peace Prevails is flying and made it three wins from her last four outings with another Epsom success. She has never reached the frame in 11 previous all-weather efforts, though, so is worth taking on with TOPOLOGY, whose last couple of performances over this C&D have resulted in a win and a second, and he holds Highway One and Miss Blondell on the most recent of those.
