Stablmate Three Castles is another tackling obstacles for the first time following a useful spell on the level, with Bullion Boss also arriving match-fit from his time in that code over the summer. French import Balranald is interesting on debut for Lucinda Russell, while Burnage Boy and Karasheni both shaped nicely on their respective hurdling appearances at Wetherby last month and could have more up their sleeves.

Takingitallin carried on his fine form from the summer when second to a progressive rival at Bangor last time and a repeat of her best form could see her involved here, with jockey Theo Gillard's 7lb allowance a positive. The enigmatic Squouateur sees his rating continue to fall and is dangerous to dismiss, while any further rain should suit Petite Ganache, who could also appreciate the return to hurdles. However, a chance is taken on ARTHURS SECRET, who had a nice pipe-opener on the Flat here recently and the pick of Sandy Thomson's duo can build on that off a mark just 2lb higher than when scoring in useful company at Ayr last winter.

However, the vote goes to Tim Vaughan's GLIMPSE OF GOLD, who races off a 1lb lower mark than when striking the crossbar at Ludlow 13 days ago.

He deserves another chance while Bromance, who has placed in both hurdle starts to date, is no forlorn hope on his debut in handicap company.
