Dual bumper winner ERITAGE fell early on his hurdles debut at Wincanton, but he jumped much better at Exeter just over a week later in an above-average novices' hurdle and should have learned plenty from that experience. The five-year-old caught the eye there when making late gains and can prove too strong for Fubar, who had some strong form in bumpers last season and has had a wind operation. Look Alive could prove best of the remainder.
Prediction : 1st Eritage 2nd Fubar 3rd Look Alive

BON CALVADOS should have learned plenty from his first two starts over hurdles, and it is surely only a matter of time before he opens his account. The five-year-old is a half-brother to the classy Saint Calvados and, like his relation, is sure to be given a positive ride. Dogon may not have liked the track at Fakenham and could do better this time, while San Rumoldo can be forgiven a modest bumper run at Ascot and might bounce back now over hurdles.
Prediction : 1st Bon Calvados 2nd Dogon 3rd San Rumoldo

PRIMAL FOCUS returned to form when scoring over fences at Exeter and won't mind this step up in distance. The five-year-old is expected to remain competitive back over the smaller obstacles, and his prospects would improve further if the ground remained on the sound side. Vamanos was second in novice company at Kelso and is worth noting now back in a handicap under Richard Johnson for just the second time. Cushuish was second over C&D four weeks ago and is also interesting.
Prediction : 1st Primal Focus 2nd Vamanos 3rd Cushuish

Manofthemountain has been successful in his last two starts, but they were in smaller fields and this is more competitive following a 6lb rise. Forgot To Ask drops in class after unseating his rider at Exeter, while Monty's Award is in good form but might prefer going left handed. The vote goes to BATTLE OF IDEAS, who likes decent ground and was a respectable second at Fontwell 11 days ago following a four-month break.
Prediction : 1st Battle Of Ideas 2nd Manofthemountain 3rd Montys Award

POUCOR made a winning return over hurdles at Plumpton after a few outings on the Flat earlier in the autumn, and a 3lb rise might not be enough to stop Mick Channon's gelding from striking again. Bang On (second) and Le Ligerien (third) were closely matched over C&D a fortnight ago and are expected to be in the mix along with Dorking Boy, who has his second outing after wind surgery.
Prediction : 1st Poucor 2nd Bang On 3rd Le Ligerien

ARQUEBUSIER returned to form in emphatic fashion when winning by nine lengths over C&D last month and should go well, despite an 8lb rise. Game Line drops back from 3m2f after striking off 3lb lower at Newton Abbot and could be keeping on strongly in the closing stages, while recent Exeter second Write It Down, who steps up from 2m3f, and Seeanythingyoulike, who was going well until falling at Ludlow recently, could also make their presence felt.
Prediction : 1st Arquebusier 2nd Game Line 3rd Write It Down

DAN GUN looked on good terms with himself when scoring by six lengths over a similar trip at Huntingdon last time and should remain competitive in the face of a 7lb rise in the ratings. Chepstow third Clearly Capable has place claims now stepping up from 2m and can fight it out with Newton Abbot scorer Russian's Legacy, who steps up slightly in trip, for the silver medal.
Prediction : 1st Dan Gun 2nd Russians Legacy 3rd Clearly Capable
