Cerberus has since gone one better in emphatic fashion over C&D and is a major danger on 4lb better terms. Dinard Rose justified a short price at Gowran last week and isn't out of this in receipt of the fillies' allowance.

Willie Mullins has won this four times in the last five years and Foveros looks the pick of this year's team after a Galway brace, but Gordon Elliott was the one who broke the Closutton stranglehold a couple of years ago and holds all the aces this time. Abacadabras hasn't put a foot wrong since going hurdling and won a Navan Grade 3 with plenty to spare. ENVOI ALLEN is the stable's primary hope, though, because the Champion Bumper hero is unbeaten in five and couldn't have been more impressive on his jumping bow at Down Royal.

The Samcro bubble burst last term but the former star novice hurdler has always appealed as a budding chaser and he got his career back on track with a comfortable Down Royal victory on his first crack at the larger obstacles. He is still capable of rising to the very top, but he will do well to successfully concede 8lb to FAKIR D'OUDAIRIES. One of the best juvenile hurdlers last season, Joseph O'Brien's charge claimed the scalp of Melon on his debut over Irish fences and may have too much speed for Samcro. Ronald Pump keeps raising his game and can't be dismissed lightly, but this is too short for Irish National hero Burrows Saint.

The Gatechecker beat Glorious Galway and Aherlow to claim Cork National glory, with Out Sam an early casualty, but a 9lb hike means he now races off a career-high mark and he isn't guaranteed to confirm the form. They are all proven over this sort of distance, whereas ASK SUSAN has stamina to prove, but she might be worth the risk because her latest Listowel fourth is working out well, with the winner following up and the second running away with the Munster National. Prince Of Scars is well treated on his best hurdling form and was recently bought at a Gigginstown dispersal.
