EARLY MORNING RAIN had her limitations exposed in a Listed heat at Newbury at the weekend, and this comes soon enough, but she was impressive in seeing off a subsequent winner at Fontwell the time before and is fancied to quickly bounce back. There didn't seem to be any fluke about Rose Of Aghaboe's 40-1 Warwick triumph and she is the main danger, ahead of Sparky Valentine.

On the same card that Pres disposed of Ballyart to justify favouritism on his chasing bow here, Kingston Mimosa broke his own fencing duck, although he needed quite a few more opportunities to do so. All three are contenders again, but THE MANUSCRIPT returned from a break to find only one too strong at Chepstow and might have that little bit more improvement to come.

RUACANA has been revitalised by the switch to the Zoe Davison team, winning over the extended 2m3f here before successfully dropping to this C&D to score with plenty up his sleeve. He is only up another 4lb and is worth sticking with while in such good heart. Hier Encore has a rare foray away from Fontwell but could make the frame, as could Nelson's Touch.

After cutting out the running, Imperial Acolyte possibly didn't see out 2m5f on his Ludlow comeback and much better is expected back at this trip. Even so, MAYPOLE CLASS made a really encouraging start to his handicap career when second at Carlisle and there should be much more to come from him. There was promise to take from Honorable's Kempton return and he should be able to make his presence felt too.

SHANAHAN'S TURN hasn't managed to get his head in front since he lifted the 2015 Galway Plate, but these races were created for horses like him and he showed there is an engine still there when third on his Chepstow reappearance. Uhlan Bute showed some improvement from his first start to his second of the campaign, and there are still races in him. Finnegan's Garden might be the one for third.
