COURT MASTER clearly improved for his wind operation over the summer based upon his impressive victory on his chasing debut at Musselburgh last month. A 3lb rise in the ratings for that win appears to be more than fair and he is hard to oppose. Innisfree Lad bounced back to form at Taunton a fortnight ago and he should not be underestimated, while Dentley De Mee and Western Climate are the pick of the remainder.

POND ROAD wasn't without support on his seasonal reappearance/handicap debut when fourth at Fontwell 34 days ago and is clearly thought capable of better. He has since been dropped 2lb and it will be disappointing if the five-year-old isn't competitive with first-time cheekpieces applied. Classic Tune was progressive towards the back end of last season and may have just needed his Huntingdon reappearance, while hat-trick seeking Good News also merits respect.

Twotwothree made it back-to-back chase wins when romping to victory at Huntingdon last month and the progressive six-year-old requires plenty of consideration, despite a further 12lb hike in the ratings. However, the vote goes to DARLING ALKO, who was left in the lead when his closest rival fell four from home at Ludlow, but he got the job done well on that occasion and a 7lb rise could prove lenient. Useful novice hurdler Petit Palais is an interesting recruit to chasing, while Shanroe Tic Tec can't be ruled out with Ben Pauling back amongst the winners of late.

The form of CADZAND's Newbury debut, when third to Son Of Camas, looks rock solid with that winner following up in a red-hot maiden hurdle at the Ladbrokes Trophy meeting at the same venue. Dan Skelton's point-to-point winner wouldn't need to improve much to take this and rates the one to beat. Stablemate Durl Rock is a half-brother to the smart Duke Of Navan and is worth a market check, while Nicky Henderson is another saddling two, Felony and Fox's Socks, the former given a second chance having hung left at Ascot. Alan King's Southwell winner Heart Of A Lion must also be taken seriously in a bumper that appears to have plenty of depth.
