Handsome Bob is the top-rated horse in the field but has done precious little this season, including when pulled up in a pair of selling hurdles most recently. CANADIAN GEORGE has also endured a torrid time over timber and did little better over an extended mile here latest, but this trip looks much more suitable and he could land the spoils. Doctor Jazz has the best last-time-out form in the field, having finished a nine-length fourth over C&D, so he cannot go unnoticed.

BAHUTA ACHA has recorded one win and two seconds in four starts recently, with the only blemish coming when fourth over 7f three runs ago. David Loughnane's gelding is up 3lb for the most recent of those second-placed finishes, but could still get the better of Sandridge Lad, whose two recent runner-up efforts have come at Chelmsford. True Belief got within half a length of success when third at Kempton last time and is a danger, but he was a nose behind Good Answer on that occasion and the pair meet on the same terms here.

Augustus Caesar built on the promise of his Southwell second with a victory at Lingfield on his nursery debut at Lingfield. He has been raised 7lb for that success, though, so might be worth opposing with ASTROZONE. Bryan Smart's filly had shown some promise on turf before her first foray into nurseries at Southwell last time, where she was beaten less than a length. Up just 1lb for that, she can strike. Southwell third Baileys In Bloom is another to note off a 1lb lower mark.

PUNTING ran a decent race on debut at Kempton and any improvement for the step up in trip could make Richard Hughes' charge tough to beat. Uncle Swayze made a decent fist of things on his first outing at Kempton, while Manap ran better than the bare form suggests at Lingfield last time as he was difficult to load and ran green early on. Previous winners Come On My Son and Spantik cannot go unconsidered despite having to shoulder penalties.

Xquisite was far from disgraced in a seller at Lingfield last time and appears to be heading the right way, while Divine Connection has shown a useful level of form without winning in handicap company. Isobar Wind won a seller here three starts ago but has done little in two runs since, so preference is for SCHUMLI. David O'Meara's charge is not the most consistent, but he won a handicap here three runs ago and could be tough to beat off a feather weight.

GODHEAD had Pledge Of Honour over two lengths behind in third when successful at Kempton on debut and though John Gosden's charge has to give that rival 7lb here, there's every chance he will improve enough for that debut to score. The Met is penalised for his success over 7f here when with James Tate, but he has to be of interest up in trip and running for the first time as a gelding.

This could be between the two last-time-out winners Calin's Lad and STEAL THE SCENE. The former has run well over shorter at this track in the not-too-distant past and won nicely at Kempton last time, but the selection is a regular at this track and Kevin Frost's gelding ran on so strongly to score over 7f here last time that this step back up in trip surely will suit. Freedom And Wheat might just be better over shorter trips at Southwell, but he showed he is in decent nick at the Nottinghamshire track last time.
