UK Horse Racing Tips: Lingfield

KATHERINE PLACE has been in top form of late, winning two of her last three and only beaten a neck in second on the other occasion. She makes the most appeal once again and ran well on her sole outing over the course and distance in the summer. Course-and-distance winner Roundabout Magic has a great record here and went close at Chelmsford last time, while Nautical Haven is another to note.

CHITRA got the better of the consistent Something Lucky by a short head here 12 days ago and it would be no surprise to see the duo fight out the finish once again. Daniel Kubler's three-year-old is 1lb worse off on this occasion, but is tentatively backed to hold on once more as she's open to more improvement. Lalania was a winner at Chelmsford last month and arrives in good form, so she completes the shortlist.

TIME VOYAGE took a step in the right direction when second over 7f at Newcastle last month and, noted as staying on well in the closing stages, John Quinn's charge is expected to appreciate this step up in distance. Take Me To The Sky appears to be improving between runs and could benefit from a recent wind operation, while Rhubarb Bikini, who sports first-time cheekpieces, should be all the wiser for the experience gained when second at Chelmsford in October.

EMILY GOLDFINCH is best when able to dominate from the front and, in this small field, there is a good chance she may be able to make all. Lucymai has a strong chance on these terms, though she's sporting a first-time eye-shield as she bids to step up on some moderate recent efforts. Rock On Baileys also merits consideration at the weights, though there is little to get excited about from her recent performances either.

DUBAI WARRIOR accounted for both Kasbaan (second) and Victory Bond (third) at Chelmsford last month and is fancied to frank that form for John Gosden. Polytrack is clearly his preferred surface and he can take this before moving towards bigger targets on the all-weather next year. Victory Bond had Kasbaan a length back in third when scoring over this C&D 17 days ago but isn't sure to confirm superiority, while recent French Listed hero Dalgarno can prove best of the remainder.

SCARLET DRAGON finished third in the Quebec Stakes on this card 12 months ago and there are plenty of reasons to believe that the six-year-old could be hard to beat today off a mark of 99. Entangling ran well over 1m2f here 17 days ago and he should have no problem handling this step back up in trip. The shortlist is completed by Mythical Madness and Hulcote.

A competitive race to close the card but the marginal preference is for ACCESSOR, who was only beaten a head when finishing second at Newcastle earlier in the month. Mobham was not disgraced over C&D last time out and that form suggests that he could be the main threat to the selection. That said, Banta Bay and Gladden are others who merit consideration.
