The Trevor Hemmings-owned seven-year-old boasts winning form between the flags and appears to be getting the hang of things over fences judging by his Ascot fourth in November. Jack Devine ran well in a C&D handicap last time and is expected to put up plenty of resistance.

PRESENCE OF MIND won between the flags in the spring and has returned in good order this term since switching to bumpers, landing a contest over an extended 1m5f at Huntingdon in November. He's expected to have been well schooled for his first hurdles assignment and shades the vote ahead of Tango Boy, who picked up minor money on his first start over timber at Carlisle in October. Word Has It may have better to offer on his second run following wind surgery.

Zabeel Star is having his second start following wind surgery and is worth a market check now returning to hurdles, though with the benefit of a solid recent run to his name, Sedgefield scorer NEFYN POINT narrowly shades the vote. Donald McCain's charge has a 7lb rise in the ratings to overcome but had plenty in hand last time. Percy B Shelley was consistent in Ireland and also merits a market check on his first outing for Micky Hammond.

ALLTIMEGOLD didn't run up to his best when third at Sedgefield last month but the seven-year-old is capable of putting that effort behind him as he boasts the strongest form in the contest. Sir Runs A Lot is of interest on handicap debut after a trio of efforts in novice/maiden company, while recent Bangor winner Baratineur is likely to be in the mix if backing that performance up.

PULL GREEN improved from his hurdling debut to score when getting the better of the reopposing Quoteline Direct over C&D and despite having to give that rival 6lb, the son of Califet is expected to progress further as Quoteline Direct was not short of experience from the Flat prior to that encounter. Joseph Hobson has shown some ability in two bumper outings and is respected along with Ibn Al Emarat, who warrants a market check on his first start since August 2017.

Manwell won this race 12 months ago but returns off a 9lb higher mark for his follow-up bid and preference is for REVERANT CUST, who looks better treated despite going up 6lb for a victory over the extended 1m7f here 15 days ago. That was his third victory at this venue, including a win over this trip, and the North Yorkshire circuit seems to bring the best out of Peter Atkinson's gelding. C&D winner Paddling arrives on the back of two close seconds here and should give another good account of himself.

Emma Beag and MAMOO were only separated by just over a length when a close second and third respectively over 2m7f at Market Rasen last month and they look like the ones to concentrate on here. The latter is 1lb better off with Julia Brooke's charge and looks more suited by the extra two furlongs here, so it taken to turn the tables en route to claiming top honours. Devito'sredrobin is sliding down the ratings and could take much closer order.
