SHUMAKER had no luck whatsoever at Leopardstown, where he was badly hampered after three out before pulling up sharply minus a shoe, and he can be given another chance at a venue where he won on his only previous visit. Future Proof and Ejayteekay could only manage 10th and 21st respectively in the aforementioned Leopardstown event but they both have a chance in this less competitive field. Heatstroke is no forlorn hope on his first outing for Michael Cleary.

Champagne Diva wasn't devoid of promise in three bumper appearances last year and may improve for this switch to hurdles, while Lady Mccabe, the mount of talented conditional Sean O'Keeffe, is better than she showed on her jumping bow at Tramore. However, those with previous NH form don't set an overly high standard so a chance is taken on point-to-point scorer GALE AT SEA. She represents a stable in decent form and wouldn't need to be anything special to make a successful debut under Rules.

ROSSMORE'S PRIDE collected minor money off this mark over 2m1f at Down Royal over Christmas and is expected to benefit from the step up in distance. Black Ice rises from 2m after posting a respectable fifth at Tramore and could emerge as the main rival to the selection. The pick of the remainder may be Mlily, who drops back from 2m7f after picking up a bronze medal here.

ATLANTIC SHORE was beaten by less than a length over 3m at Cork earlier in the month and may be able to gain compensation for that near-miss now cutting back slightly in trip. Eden Flight should find this assignment easier than his last one at Navan - a maiden hurdle won by Andy Dufresne. The improving Ashdale Bob and consistent Braeside also merit inclusion on the shortlist.

JIMMY JIMMY finished sixth in what is typically a strong bumper here at the beginning of last month and the five-year-old is entitled to come on from that performance with his sights lowered. Ultima Thule was clearly second best behind Easywork, who has gone on to win twice over hurdles, at Down Royal and he warrants plenty of respect along with newcomers Stattler, a half-brother to the useful Binge Drinker, and Stowaway John.
