Champagne Platinum went the other way at Cheltenham on his most recent outing, seemingly lacking confidence over the fences, but he showed ability over hurdles and could still have a future in this discipline. Moonlighter has unseated in two of his three chase starts and might be best watched.

Generation Gap is another expected to appreciate the return to 2m, while Fubar completes the shortlist.

Eddiemaurice made the frame in a competitive contest at Kempton during the Christmas period and he should be in the mix once again today. Others to note are Nebuchadnezzar and Royal Ruby.

NOTACHANCE has looked a dour stayer in his outings over fences so far and the Exeter winner was doing his best work at the finish when beaten just three lengths over course and distance last time. Fantastikas bumped into an above-average rival when second at Southwell on debut and has to be respected, while Alan King won this in 2018 and has solid claims with stable debutant Jay Bee Why, a winning graduate from the pointing field.
