TACTICAL MANOEUVRE couldn't justify a short price over fences on his Fontwell comeback, but proved he is far happier over the smaller obstacles when winning in gritty fashion at Exeter. He has gone up 7lb but Jeremy Scott should be able to get more out of him. His former stablemate Truckers Tangle was a costly failure at Fontwell but it is too soon to write him off. Amzac Magic remains on a workable mark, and Flanagans Field can't be ruled out either.

Money for Golden Jeffrey on his first start for David Pipe would be interesting, as he has also had wind surgery, but a safer option is KARAKORAM. The Grace Harris-trained five-year-old beat all bar a bang-in-form rival at Plumpton and is fancied to go one better. Jackson Hill has yet to get his head in front but he has been nothing if not consistent in defeat. Poucor has to enter the reckoning as well.

SHANG TANG came up short in the hot Cheltenham race won by the exciting Chantry House, but he previously chased home the 134-rated Getaway Fred at Chepstow and a reproduction of that form may well be good enough. Getaway Fred's trainer Colin Tizzard again provides the main stumbling block, this time in the shape of Ascot third Butterwick Brook. Former Tizzard inmate Oscars Moonshine didn't pull up any trees on his debut for Paul Nicholls, but he should step forward from it.

ROCK THE KASBAH was touched off by a short-head by Cogry in a competitive handicap at Cheltenham last month and is expected to show up well off this 2lb higher mark. Yala Enki posted his best effort for Paul Nicholls when third in the Welsh Grand National and is the one who could give the selection most to think about. At Sandown last time Regal Flow was flattered by his proximity to the winner, who was almost carried out by a loose horse near the last, though he still has viable place claims, as does Daklondike, who continues to drop in the ratings.

SLEEP EASY, who won a selling hurdle over C&D in November, picked up the silver medal over 2m4f at Fakenham on New Year's Day and wouldn't need to find much improvement in order to get back on the winning trail off this 2lb higher perch. Jacbequick is returning from an absence but merits a market check as he is rated only 4lb higher than when scoring at Newton Abbot in June. Recent Leicester scorer Applesandpierres looks best of the rest.

TROUBLED SOUL has been knocking on the door of late with second-placed finishes at Warwick and Lingfield in recent months. A 3lb rise for the most recent of those efforts is fair and the veteran mare makes plenty of appeal this afternoon. Outofthisworld failed to fire in a novice chase last time but should be more at home at this level, while Loveherandleaveher and Top And Drop are best of the rest.

COQUELICOT has hit the crossbar in both of her previous starts and this appears to be an ideal opportunity for the four-year-old to get off the mark. Graces Order and Sound Of Music both displayed promise on their respective debuts at Huntingdon last month and they are entitled to improve for that experience. Kilmington Rose cost 68,000 pounds as a store and she is a newcomer to note.
