UK Horse Racing Tips: Huntingdon

This effectively looks a match between last month's C&D scorer West Cork, who has improved with each start thus far, and the unbeaten MISTER COFFEY. Nicky Henderson's gelding built on his course bumper success when striking on his hurdling debut at Newbury (second has run well since) and he is fancied to round off the hat-trick now. Dual Flat winner Al Kout could snatch third on his NH bow.

Twycross Warrior was touched off at Warwick last time and is likely to give another good account, while Imperial Elysian could land a blow if none the worse for his first-fence tumble at Huntingdon. Preference, however, is for Kim Bailey's SEA STORY, who is 1lb lower than when third on her last couple of outings. The cheekpieces appeared to have a positive effect at Leicester and it's encouraging to see them fitted again.

ENRY IGGINS won pretty much as he liked over an extended 2m3f at Hereford last time and a 12lb rise might not be enough to anchor him if arriving in the same mood. Irish Odyssey has placed in both hurdle starts to date and warrants plenty of respect on his handicap debut, with Jubilympics, who is equipped with a first-time hood, and Twenty Twenty just a couple more with claims in a very competitive event.

PHOENIX WAY beat a couple of nice yardsticks at Plumpton 12 months ago (now rated 142 and 148) and it wouldn't be a huge surprise if Harry Fry's gelding was fairly treated on his handicap debut off 133. The seven-year-old has had a wind operation since and can take this before proving a force in the major spring festivals at this sort of level. Doctor Duffy is a reliable type and should at least qualify for the main event in March, while Palmers Hill is also considered.

MAIRE BANRIGH leaped like a stag to claim a fifth successive victory in handicap company at Doncaster recently and might take some stopping upped in trip by Dan Skelton. Forecast conditions shouldn't be a problem for the mare, and she can take this before enjoying a fruitful spring campaign. Casablanca Mix was below her best in South Yorkshire on her most recent outing but could bounce back, while Dalila Du Seuil, also below-par in that same event, is another who may be involved.

HURRICANE ARCADIO ran his best race to date when tackling 2m4f for the first time at Wincanton last month, shaping as though he would benefit from a longer trip, and the six-year-old has been found a decent opportunity to get off the mark. Mr Palmtree has gone up 9lb for two placed efforts in November and could enter the reckoning, along with Robyndzone, who finished third on his chase debut at Taunton, and Stream Lady on her second outing after wind surgery.

ETOILE REBELLE makes plenty of appeal on his racecourse debut as the five-year-old boasts a smart pedigree, his dam a half-sister to star chaser Vautour, and he represents a stable that are currently in excellent form. Third Time Lucki carries a penalty after winning in good style at Market Rasen on his second outing in this sphere, while Twominutes Turkish, Bothwell Bridge and Fortunate Fred are others to note in what could prove an informative contest.
