WENCESLAUS arrives having won two of his last three starts, finishing second on the other occasion, and the in-form eight-year-old is hard to oppose having been raised just 3lb for his most recent victory. Clondaw Robin was successful over hurdles two starts ago and he should not be underestimated in this moderate contest. The rest all look to be up against it, but Vicenzo Mio is the pick of them.

CAT TIGER has to give weight to all of his rivals but the six-year-old was an impressive winner under a penalty over C&D earlier in the month and he could outclass his rivals once again. Young Lieutenant has filled second place in two of his three previous starts over hurdles and he could be set to repeat that feat. Moroder was well held by the selection last time and he will do well to reverse that form, while Jamboulet needs to take a big step forward.

A small but competitive event, in which WHISKEY IN THE JAR shades the verdict. Three from eight under Rules, he's clearly a gelding with plenty of ability and this represents an easier assignment than when struggling at Aintree last month. He could well improve for that first outing since March 2018, and stepping up from 2m4f might also help. Hideaway Vic has undergone wind surgery since his latest placed effort and merits respect, as does The Wicket Chicken, who has been knocking on the door in this sphere.

CLONDAW BISTO was given an excellent never-say-die ride by Zac Baker when the pair struck at Fakenham and, returning to the scene of his previous NH success, the nine-year-old could follow up off a 5lb higher mark. Although fairly in-and-out, Dylanseoghan has placed in three of his last five starts and must enter calculations, and Chepstow runner-up Bill And Barn is certainly no forlorn hope either.
