The five-year-old has been raised 5lb, but remains on a fair mark and could prove too strong for recent C&D hero Zarkavon, who has to defy a 12lb hike. Satchville Flyer is often involved at this lowly level and might also hit the frame.

DAME JOAN is a half-sister to Group 2 winner Aljaamaheer and could make her debut a winning one for Ed Walker and Lord Lloyd-Webber. The Invincible Spirit filly has several winners in her pedigree, and this yard can ready a newcomer. Zawalah is related to a couple of smart all-weather types, while Key Look is another to note in a contest that looks poised to go to one of the newcomers.

She looked to have plenty in the tank when keeping on strongly on that occasion and a switch to Linda Stubbs seems to have revitalised the six-year-old. Bedtime Bella has been running with credit of late and is respected, while four-time course winner Roman Spinner can't be ruled out despite missing out on a hat-trick latest.

Carnwennan accounted for COEUR DE LION at Newcastle last June, but the switch to Polytrack could suit Alan King's charge, who is also 7lb better off at the weights this time. The seven-year-old held his form well last year, also finishing third in the Marsh Cup at Newbury behind Withhold, and looks fairly solid. Bailarico was progressing nicely last year before a break and may prove best of the remainder carrying a low weight.

SARIM defied a long absence to win over C&D two starts ago before disappointing back at the track over a furlong shorter just over three weeks later. It is likely that performance came too quick after his victory and the five-year-old remains open to progression on just his third start for Warren Greatrex. The drop back to 1m4f is likely to suit Persian Sun based on his third here last month, while a pair of blinkers might aid the cause of Capla Crusader after his latest course effort.

DOUBLE LEGEND failed to justify favouritism when second over C&D last month but was touched off by less than a length all the same. Amanda Perrett's five-year-old has been raised 1lb in the ratings subsequently but wouldn't need to find much improvement to gain compensation. Howardian Hills rattled the crossbar off 1lb lower over track and trip latest and has viable place claims, as does Strict, who remains unexposed over middle distances.

CHENG GONG has held his form well since striking over the extended 1m3f at Yarmouth in October and is expected to build on his recent 1m6f second at Chelmsford now cutting back in trip. Arlecchino's Arc steps up in distance after keeping on into third off this mark over 1m2f at Lingfield and has viable place claims, though a bigger danger may be Mistress Nellie, who stuck over C&D 12 days ago and could potentially see that piece of form boosted by the second, Howardian Hills, in the preceding race on this card.
