Butler's Brief found one too strong at Hereford last time but he remains open to progression with the handicapper leaving him on the same mark, while Very Intense and Project Mars can fight it out for the minor honours.

The dual bumper winner has had a modest season so far, but she looked better after a break last time and stays this trip well. ROBADDAN showed a liking for this discipline when second on his chasing debut last time and surely has more to offer for Charlie Mann. Only beaten half a length there by a decent type, he might have a bit in hand off this sort of mark. Enrichissant makes some appeal on just his second start since a wind operation, while Cave Top and Donatello Mail add further depth to this competitive heat.

BARDD was headed in the final strides over 2m at Warwick last time but should go close if running to a similar level of form, despite going up 3lb in the ratings subsequently. Miss Heritage has been in good order at Fakenham and likely has more to offer over timber, likewise Nigel Twiston-Davies' handicap debutant The Newest One, who is expected to step up on the level of form he's shown in maiden/novice company.

IBLEO was having his first start since 2017 when winning on his chasing bow at Wincanton last month and it was also his first outing since undergoing wind surgery. Venetia Williams' patience with the seven-year-old has been rewarded and he's taken to make it 2-2 over fences. Wenceslaus arrives on a hat-trick and is the one expected to put up most resistance, though a big run from recent Carlisle second Fanzio would also come as no surprise.
