Equidae took a step in the right direction when runner-up behind the selection latest and could narrow the gap now dropped in trip. The pick of the remainder may be Bobby Joe Leg, who was thwarted by just a neck off this mark on the Tapeta at Newcastle recently.

OLD HARBOUR shaped with an abundance of promise when third on debut over this trip at Chelmsford and is entitled to improve with the benefit of that initial outing under his belt. Godfather is steadily improving between runs and has viable place claims, while The Cola Kid could also feasibly play a minor role if building on his recent 6f Chelmsford second now granted this additional furlong.

MOVEONUP won in decent style over C&D two starts ago and went close in his attempt to follow that victory up at Chelmsford last Tuesday. The four-year-old is able to run off the same mark, having been given a 2lb rise by the assessor, and Gay Kelleway's gelding can continue his solid run of form after posting another solid effort when third behind Astro Jakk over C&D on Tuesday. Young Tiger's consistency at the track over the past couple of months can see him enter calculations, while Red Stripes and Green Door complete the shortlist.

SANDRIDGE LAD arrives having won his last three C&D appearances, the most recent of those coming last Friday, and despite being 4lb wrong at the weights due to a penalty, it would be no surprise to see the son of Equiano maintain his purple patch. Nigel Nott remains open to improvement on his handicap debut after landing his most recent outings at Chelmsford and Lingfield, while Zylan's latest performances suggest he will be competitive once again.

Velvet Vision made it back-to-back victories when scoring at Chelmsford earlier this month and the course-and-distance winner makes plenty of appeal here. However, there could be lots more to come from CHARLIE ARTHUR, who was a comfortable victor over track and trip when last seen in November. He is only 6lb higher this time and Richard Hughes' four-year-old created a good impression with a string of top performances in the autumn. Windsor Cross has run well off this mark in the past and is respected, with Dr Jekyll also shortlisted following a handy third at Lingfield last month.

BOLT N BROWN tasted success over hurdles at Ludlow earlier this month, and having placed off a 1lb higher mark in an amateur riders' handicap here before that, could take plenty of beating with Luke Morris taking over in the saddle. Mr Carbonator wasn't beaten far at Wolverhampton last time and is interesting stepping up in trip now tried in a visor. Motahassen has made the podium over track and trip the last twice and is another to consider, along with Pumblechook and Adams Park.
