Mister Music and Chosen World both appear to be edging closer to the winner's circle, while Makambe is holding his form well and will relish the return to Southwell.

Makthecat was turned over at a short price at Chelmsford but returns to the scene of his previous victory with the benefit of a wind operation. Hatcher is a smart jumper and boosted his confidence with a jumpers' bumper win at Wolverhampton, but he may lack the finishing kick of LATIN KNIGHT. Marco Botti's gelding made a debut full of promise when getting closest to a rival with plenty of previous experience at Kempton, and natural improvement could be enough to see him go one better here.

Harbour Front showed his appreciation for the switch to this surface when making it third-time lucky over 1m4f. An initial mark of 73 doesn't seem too harsh, but CHARLIE D may have too much stamina for him. Tom Dascombe's stayer was fourth of five on his return in a class 2 handicap at Wolverhampton, but the outing should bring him on and he could dictate terms to suit himself. Sociologist is a Southwell regular, although his strike-rate isn't great, while The Resdev Way also goes well here and his latest fourth in a Newcastle jumpers' bumper wasn't bad.

UBLA had been running well in defeat until a poor Wolverhampton display, but he bounced back in no uncertain terms to win at Kempton and is fancied to defy a 5lb rise. Forseti's hat-trick bid fell short over a mile here, but it would be no surprise if he was able to regain the winning thread, especially considering how much he likes the Fibresand. Stallone's ability to handle the surface isn't quite so apparent but he has been freshened up since his own attempt at a three-timer failed at Windsor, since when he has changed stables.

KITTY'S COVE went some way to putting a miserable jumping debut behind her when claiming the runner-up spot on her return to the level at Newcastle. She needs to back that up on a different surface but is fancied to do so at the chief expense of War Empress, who put in a career-best effort when third over 1m6f here. The return to this venue will go some way to helping Le Musee atone for an expensive Newcastle loss, and Bill Cody is another C&D winner to consider with cheekpieces now applied.

He has risen a total of 9lb but is worth sticking with. Palazzo also likes it here and reverts to a more suitable distance after failing to get home over 1m3f. Voice Of A Leader is worth a mention, while The King's Steed has had 33 all-weather runs but none here.
