FUTURE PROOF bounced back to form when finishing second at Fairyhouse in January and a reproduction of that performance should be good enough to win this contest. The rest with hurdling experience do not set a high standard so the main threat could prove to be Womalko, who is an interesting Rules debutant having finished second in a point-to-point last month. Others to note are Royal Rhythm and Pictures Of Home.
Prediction : 1st Future Proof 2nd Womalko 3rd Royal Rhythm

ENERGUMENE clearly improved for his first run for these connections judging on his win in a competitive bumper at Thurles when last seen in January. If the six-year-old takes to hurdles he will be very hard to beat in a race of this nature. Ballymacaw has a chance based on the pick of his form, while similar comments apply to Champagne Paddy.
Prediction : 1st Energumene 2nd Ballymacaw 3rd Champagne Paddy

HELL ON EARTH was only beaten a neck over this trip at Fairyhouse a couple of weeks ago and he has to be given the utmost respect despite a 4lb rise in the ratings. Lady Mccabe was third in that contest and she could make the frame once again. The shortlist is completed by Rebel Waltz, Drifting Back and Deal With It.
Prediction : 1st Hell On Earth 2nd Lady Mccabe 3rd Rebel Waltz

JP McManus looks to have a strong hand here and the pick of his trio could well be THE LONG MILE, who arrives in top form having won two of his last three starts. He scored with plenty in hand over two miles most recently and that gives plenty of optimism he can thrive again off a 9lb higher mark and upped in distance by two furlongs. The form of Diamond Turf's neck defeat to Castle Oliver looks rock solid with that winner franking the form on his next outing and that consistent performer looks one to consider. Recent Thurles winner Tikkanen Express and Velocity Boy are others to watch out for.
Prediction : 1st The Long Mile 2nd Diamond Turf 3rd Tikkanen Express

DISCORDANTLY was putting in a fantastic round of jumping before taking a fall six from home at Leopardstown earlier this week and he looked certain to play a prominent role in the finish. The six-year-old has a fantastic chance of picking up some compensation with a clear round now dropping back in trip. This is potentially much easier than some of Flawless Escape's recent assignments and he has to be respected, with Calicojack interesting upped in distance on just his second chase outing.
Prediction : 1st Discordantly 2nd Flawless Escape 3rd Calicojack

SOME MAN finished fourth at Thurles behind Macs Legend on their most recent meeting but the seven-year-old was arguably too far out of his ground compared to the trio ahead of him and a more positive ride can see him reverse that form. Fenno's Storm has a tongue-tie and a pair of blinkers on for the first time which could both bring about some improvement, while a repeat of Call It Magic's fourth in last season's Becher Chase would put him right in the mix.
Prediction : 1st Some Man 2nd Fennos Storm 3rd Call It Magic

Bob Olinger and COQOLINO both arrive with very similar profiles as the pair were wide-margin winners of their sole point-to-point outings and both sold privately to join leading connections. The booking of Patrick Mullins on the former is very interesting, with his father Willie fielding a runner, but the latter shades the vote with the form of his victory franked by the runner-up scoring in impressive fashion in a Wincanton bumper on Thursday. Elusive Star and Katoune Tara appear best of the remainder.
Prediction : 1st Coqolino 2nd Bob Olinger 3rd Elusive Star
