Buster Edwards' winning run was brought to an end at Warwick and despite that perfectly respectable third place, the suspicion is that he might just be vulnerable off an unchanged mark. The most solid option might be ROYAL CLARET, with Tom Symonds' mare a much-improved second at Carlisle on her most recent outing. She is 2lb lower than her last winning figure and will appreciate this test.

SUBCONTINENT possibly needs a bit of time between races, but he was impressive when last seen striking over timber at Ludlow in December and might follow up off just 6lb higher. The eight-year-old is open to a bit more improvement and appeals more than Delight Of Dubai, who also has plenty of scope as a chaser. Rosmuc Relay needed his comeback outing at Uttoxeter and now wears a visor for the first time.

SAINT DE VASSY returned to form with a solid second over C&D in December and it is possible he can better that effort now sporting a first-time tongue-tie. Hollywoodien is fitted with cheekpieces after pulling up at Wetherby, but has dropped to a workable mark so could bounce back. Former smart Gordon Elliott inmate Tombstone debuts for a new stable and returns from a break so is also worth a market check.

Difficult to be too confident about any of these, but HIDEAWAY VIC is the most solid as he is having just his second run since wind surgery, is now tried in first-time blinkers and brings a mark of 122 to the table. The son of Stowaway has scope for improvement over such trips and can beat Some Detail, who sports a visor and seemed to handle deep ground at Chepstow two starts ago. Farrants Way completes the shortlist.

EAGLEHILL improved markedly when cheekpieces were applied at Market Rasen on Boxing Day as he went down by just half a length off 100. 5lb higher and with cheekpieces fitted again, this could be the time to catch him and he gets the verdict ahead of Lara Trot, who won well at Leicester in first-time blinkers but hasn't been seen for 410 days. Dalaman and Little Ginge are others to consider.
