The hat-trick beckons under a 5lb penalty as talented apprentice jockey George Rooke is riding out of his skin. J Gaye has performed well in defeat at Kempton the last twice and joins Cold Harbour on the shortlist.

DE BRUYNE HORSE might be able to supplement his C&D gains last month with another win, as connections have found their gelding a good opening and he's only 2lb higher. Bedtime Bella should run her usual honest race and put up some resistance to David Griffiths' charge, while chances are also given to five-time distance scorer Ubla and last-start Newcastle runner-up Strawberryandcream.

CAPLA SPIRIT will be winning sooner rather than later if recent second-placed efforts at the track are anything to go by. A visor (worn today) has helped this gelding since switching to Fibresand and, with George Rooke claiming 5lb and doing the steering, the three-year-old can finally break through. Intrepid Italian hasn't been seen since a creditable fifth on debut at Chepstow last August and is interesting, while Sweet Talked is also considered.

PUCHITA has impressively notched a 6f course double and with this drop in trip unlikely to pose any problems, she can round off the hat-trick. Although carrying a 5lb penalty for her most recent win, she's effectively 2lb better off with Harry Russell claiming 7lb. Global Melody, a silver medallist here on Sunday, was a C&D winner in January and warrants plenty of respect with Luke Morris taking over the reigns, while Decision Maker shouldn't be too far away either.

Split Down South had an excellent February, scoring both at Chelmsford and over this course and distance, but the hat-trick bid hit the buffers here on Sunday. BADAYEL (also engaged to run at Kempton on Monday) certainly wasn't winning out of turn in a novice event here last month and gets the vote on his first outing in handicap company. The lightly-weighted Moveonup has been knocking hard on the door and could be the one for the forecast.

GOING NATIVE arrives following two facile course victories (the latest over this distance) and with George Bass' claim negating the 5lb penalty picked up for the latest of those, she is taken to complete the three-timer. Aleatoric got off the mark at Chelmsford recently and remains open to greater improvement, while the hit-and-miss Sociologist wouldn't be without a chance if on one of his going days.
