The application of tongue-tie might aid his cause but the vote goes to LYNWOOD GOLD. A useful performer on the Flat, his two runs over timber have both shown promise and he could be in the prime position to take advantage if Willie Mullins' gelding underperforms again. Tullybeg is of interest on his debut for Gordon Elliott and can enter calculations along with The Priests Leap.

ARDAMIR ran with plenty of encouragement on his debut for Gordon Elliott when filling the runner-up spot at Naas last month and there is every chance he can improve from that run with it being his first since July 2019. Instant Return has been very consistent in juvenile hurdles and arrives having won his last two starts, while Harvest Bow is of interest returning from a break after a busy campaign last year.

FRANCIN turned some useful efforts behind some high-class horses into a comfortable victory over two miles here last month and he is well worth chancing over further once again for a leading trainer/jockey combination. Stablemate Quartz Du Rheu disappointed in a competitive handicap most recently, but is respected on the form of his useful fourth in a Limerick Grade 2 over the Christmas period. Pencilfulloflead was a commanding winner of a Punchestown maiden over this distance when last seen and appears the pick of Gordon Elliott's pair.

CADMIUM finished second in this race 12 months ago and could go one better now in a very winnable contest. He was perhaps unsuited by making the running in heavy ground at Naas last time, but ran well for a very long way and can confirm superiority over Castlegrace Paddy, who was behind him in fifth. Ornua was a Grade 1 winner as a novice and this is an easier task for Henry De Bromhead's charge, who was well held in the very best of company at the Dublin Racing Festival. Mengli Khan is a course-and-distance winner but has plenty to prove at present.

There won't have been many horses who have progressed as much as TREACYSENNISCORTHY this season, and Robert Widger's eight-year-old completed a hurdling four-timer at the Dublin Racing Festival. He reverts to the larger obstacles off a mark 19lb lower than his revised timber figure and he can take full advantage. One-time class act Coquin Mans is also comparatively well treated, although Paul Townend's presence aboard Ontheropes suggests he is the chief Closutton hope. The hat-trick seeking Tokyo Getaway merits respect too.

SPARE BRAKES put an unfortunate Fairyhouse tumble behind him when accounting for Conright Boy over C&D. The runner-up is 6lb better off as he attempts to make up the two-length deficit, but Robert Tyner's charge appeared to have plenty left in the tank and he can follow up. My Manekineko broke his chasing duck at the 21st attempt at Leopardstown, although the drop down from an extended 2m5f isn't in the veteran's favour.

TORYGRAPH chased home Ballymore third The Big Getaway on his Punchestown introduction before letting down favourite-backers at Limerick over Christmas. He can make amends because that may not have been as disappointing as it first appeared, and Gordon Elliott has a very able second string to his bow in the shape of Fairyhouse runner-up Jimmy Jimmy. As is so often the case, Willie Mullins provides the main obstacle to success for Elliott, with his Don't Tell Allen striving to go one better than he did here on debut.
