LA CHANTEUSE was a decent third in a bumper on her last visit to this venue, since when she has landed an Ayr NH Flat race before finishing fourth in Listed company at Navan. She occupied the sane position at that circuit on her jumping bow and the natural improvement the experience should inspire could be enough to see her home in front. The Ferry Master had his limitations ruthlessly exposed in a Haydock Grade 2, but looks a slightly bigger threat than Ulverston.Prediction : 1st La Chanteuse 2nd The Ferry Master 3rd Ulverston

FIRST FLOW was an exciting novice hurdler a couple of seasons ago, winning a Grade 2, but was restricted to just one appearance last season - a commendable fifth in the Imperial Cup. He has certainly made up for lost time since being sent over fences, winning three of his seven starts and making the frame in the other four, and Kim Bailey's 148-rated eight-year-old probably only needs a clear round to complete a hat-trick. Rollerruler is 46lb lower than that over timber but looks the one for second, with Grumpy Boots and Nettlebush moderate to say the least.Prediction : 1st First Flow 2nd Rollerruler 3rd Grumpy Boots
15:05 Carlisle
Lucky Flight began his hurdling career with a Kelso brace and then lost nothing in defeat when chasing home a more experienced odds-on favourite in a Musselburgh handicap. He has been dropped 2lb but is still passed over in favour of CAPTAIN BLACKPEARL, who didn't stay an extended 2m4f at Leicester and will be happier here. Henri Le Bon is also interesting now he steps out of maiden/novice company, as is Folks Like Us in the first-time cheekpieces, admittedly to a lesser extent.Prediction : 1st Captain Blackpearl 2nd Lucky Flight 3rd Henri Le Bon
15:35 Carlisle
MY OLD GOLD wasn't at her best when fourth at Doncaster on her most recent start but her effort the time before, over the same C&D when beating Cloth Cap, is enough to convince she has a prize of this nature within her grasp. Jepeck won the final of this series at Sandown in January and may prove to be more competitive back in this division, while Rehearsal Chase winner Takingrisks is respected in his preparation for the Grand National.Prediction : 1st My Old Gold 2nd Jepeck 3rd Takingrisks
16:10 Carlisle
CALLIOPE had been running well in defeat prior to winning over C&D four weeks ago and a 3lb rise for that win may not be enough to stop her from taking this contest as well. Cool Country has shown some promise in maiden hurdles and he could go well off an opening mark of 102. Others to note are Longtimesincejaspr and Oishin. Prediction : 1st Calliope 2nd Cool Country 3rd Longtimesincejaspr

JUST A PAR beat Band Of Blood by 57 lengths at Doncaster last month and the 13-year-old is very hard to oppose this afternoon based upon that evidence. Sir Jack Yeats has some good form to his name, including a sixth-placed finish in the Foxhunters' at Aintree last April, but the lack of a recent run is an obvious concern. Ultragold has not been at his best of late but the former useful performer should not be discounted. Prediction : 1st Just A Par 2nd Sir Jack Yeats 3rd Ultragold
