LADY FANDITHA was impressive on her Nottingham debut, but then found a Listed race at York all too much for her at such an early stage of her career. She will have developed during her time on the sidelines and could have too much dash for Never Dark, who has proven costly to follow over 6f but does seem fairly treated. Spirit Of The Sky is another handicap newcomer to note, while Newyorkstateofmind was successful in this sphere over C&D in October and has been gelded since.

May Remain went for 19,000 euros a few days after January's Dundalk triumph and could easily pick up where he left off on his first start for George Baker. GRIGGY was such a model of consistency throughout the winter, though, and Adam Kirby seems to get the best out of him. Kodiak Attack is another who doesn't know how to run a bad race, although he does have a bit to prove on an artificial surface.

John Gosden holds a strong hand but the pick of his trio is SUN BEAR, who is out of the stable's Irish Oaks heroine Great Heavens so should relish the extra yardage after going agonisingly close over an extended mile at Nottingham in the autumn. Divina Gloria did it well at Thirsk but has to concede weight all round, while Dusk, a daughter of Galileo out of Sir Michael Stoute's Breeders' Cup winner Dank, is the most interesting newcomer.

BORN WITH PRIDE currently sits towards the head of the Oaks market, thanks largely to her determined all-the-way victory on debut in a Newmarket Listed race as last season drew to a close. William Haggas' exciting filly has to take on the boys, which isn't ideal, but she will need to be winning this to keep any Classic ambitions on track. Hypothetical is around 33/1 for the Derby and, perhaps crucially, has all-weather experience following his Chelmsford stroll. Max Vega rounded off his juvenile campaign with a Zetland Stakes triumph but that race usually throws up a future stayer, so this could be too sharp.

Even though Carnival Rose struck over a mile at Lingfield at the start of the year, she is perhaps best suited to this trip and is sure to have plenty of support. Oloroso made a pleasing return to the fray when runer-up over C&D in March, but a chance is still taken on IMHOTEP. A beautifully-bred son of Kingman, the four-year-old showed a decent level of ability for Roger Charlton and now starts off for Milton Bradley on an attractive first mark.

Nazeef made great strides during her first campaign and connections' decision to keep her in training should result in some black type. In BILLESDON BROOK, though, she comes up against a Classic winner who proved her shock 2018 1000 Guineas success who no fluke when landing another Group 1 in last year's Sun Chariot. Nazeef's stable companion Scentasia landed a couple of Listed prizes at Lingfield and there is more to come from her, while Romola has to be respected for the Stoute/Moore combination.

Highfaluting showed his love of this track by winning two of his last four outings and finishing a close second on the other two. Purgatory has been successful in three of his last four appearances, but both upwardly-mobile geldings lack the relatively recent match practice of HIERONYMUS. George Baker's charge proved his 25/1 triumph here was no fluke when following up over the same 7f, and the way he finished that race off suggested that the extra furlong will prove no problem at all.

Steal The Scene rattled off an all-weather hat-trick at Wolverhampton before the turn of the year and is worth monitoring closely in the betting now returning to action, though it might be worth taking a flyer on SIR PLATO, who has winning C&D form in the book, has gone well fresh in the past and has Adam Kirby booked. The Warrior edged out Al Daiha in a tight finish at Lingfield in March and both merit inclusion on the shortlist following small rises in the ratings.

Fly The Nest went down by a neck over 1m when last sighted here in March but is a versatile performer, having also picked up the silver medal over C&D in February, so another big run could be on the cards if his wide draw can be overcome. Narrow preference is still for GLAMOROUS CRESCENT, who showed plenty of early speed when finishing a nose second over 7f here in October. The drop in trip could suit and she's nicely drawn. Under Curfew has been raised 5lb for scoring over 5f at Lingfield in February but has place possibilities.
