Of the newcomers, any money for William Haggas inmate Ametist would be worth heeding, given he's a half-brother to Group 3 winner Spangled.

MAYDANNY rattled the crossbar in a maiden over an extended mile at Nottingham last summer and is expected to step up on that performance now making his handicap debut off an opening mark of 80. Two Bids drops back from 1m2f on his first start since being gelded and is also fitted with a first-time hood as he bids to break his duck at the seventh attempt. A more trustworthy rival, however, may be Charlie Fellowes' Windsor maiden winner Rum Baba, for whom an initial perch of 79 appears exploitable.

PRETTY PICKLE sets the standard from those who have previous experience to their name. William Haggas' filly finished midfield over 6f on debut at Newbury last summer but if a hood helps her relax now tackling this longer trip, improvement could be on the cards. The main dangers may be lurking among the newcomers and any money for Sir Michael Stoute's Kesarina, who is a half-sister to Group 3 winner Zaaki, would be particularly notable. Mountain Dreams is also respected for a yard that can ready a debutant.

Roger Varian's IKEBANA earned her handicap mark from three runs over 6f and with her being outpaced into third here when last sighted in October, she's of particular interest now tackling 7f. Another for whom a step up from 6f could suit is Inhalation, who was tapped for toe in a novice sprint at Wolverhampton in December. However, the main danger to the selection could be Gladice, who finished midfield in Listed company in Italy in September and showed she knows how to get her head in front when picking up a maiden at Wolverhampton previously.

MOUNT WELLINGTON suffered an agonising defeat over this trip at Chelmsford when last sighted in March and although he races off a 5lb higher mark now switching to turf, he pulled over three lengths clear of the third and rates the one to beat. Narak struck on her handicap debut on turf at Lingfield in September and is expected to remain competitive off a 7lb higher perch. It is possible a first-time visor could spark some improvement from Golden Force, who steps up from 6f after a narrow defeat at Chelmsford in February.
