SPLINTER was a big eye-catcher on his racecourse debut at York, overcoming greenness and a slow start to finish a length fourth. That experience won't have been lost on him and this extra furlong is likely to suit, so he is fancied to strike second time out. Brunch is penalised for his 7f course success in November but should run well, while any market support for Keith Dalgleish's newcomer I Can't Remember would be interesting.

Al Salt has been gelded since his debut fifth at Chelmsford and an improved performance is expected. However, those with experience don't set a particularly high standard so two of the newcomers, Ray's The One and TILSIT, are of more interest. Both hail from leading stables and are likely to know their job, with slight preference for the latter, who is distantly related to the likes of Kingman and First Eleven.

Devil's Angel is an interesting player, with few miles on the clock and having been gelded since his latest start 420 days ago, but GHATHANFAR looks a safer bet. Tracy Waggott's charge has won and placed twice in four previous visits to the Gosforth Park venue and arguably produced a career-best performance when beaten just three-quarters of a length in third here last time. He's 2lb higher now but should run another big race. Corked and Stone Mason also merit consideration.

SUNSET BREEZE showed promise on all three starts last year and an opening mark of 69 appears workable for Sir Mark Prescott's charge on his handicap debut. My Kinda Day has undergone wind surgery since his last run and is worth monitoring in the betting, as is Restless Endeavour, a former Jamie Osborne representative debuting for Grant Tuer, and the lightly-raced Rogue Tide, who has the assistance of Silvestre De Sousa in the saddle on his handicap bow for Simon & Ed Crisford.

A'ALI signed off last year with a disappointing effort at Santa Anita in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint but he'd won the Flying Childers from Dream Shot prior to that, as well as beating Ventura Rebel in the Norfolk and landing the Prix Robert Papin (also a Group 2) at Deauville last summer - form which sets the standard here. Another to bear in mind is Malotru, who registered a Listed victory at Lingfield in February and has seemingly trained on after posting some solid efforts in Group 2 and Group 3 company last season.

DOUBLE DEALING, who cost 20,000gns as a yearling, is out of a mare who was Listed-placed as a juvenile and the son of Estidhkaar represents a yard who can get one ready first time out. High Peak is a half-brother to the Richmond winner Always Hopeful and he certainly merits a market inspection. Others who could go well are Adaay Dream, Airflow and Alpine Springs.

Buniann has an obvious chance having scored over C&D in late February but a 4lb rise in the ratings will make his life tougher today. With that in mind, the preference is for TABAAHY, who has won two of his last three starts and a 2lb rise for the most recent of those victories appears to be fair. Bossipop won first time out in 2019 and the former 90-rated performer has dropped to an interesting mark.

NATALEENA has a very good record at this venue and that includes her victory over C&D earlier in the year. Two subsequent placed efforts, also over C&D, suggest that the daughter of Nathaniel remains on a workable mark and she merits the utmost respect. Accessor was disappointing when last seen at Southwell but it is far too soon to be writing him off. Others to consider are Zabeel Star, Le Musee and Londonia.

MABRE was only beaten narrowly when last seen at Kempton in March and the son of Make Believe could be very hard to beat off the same mark today, especially as he may improve for a recent gelding operation. Ampney Red was far from disgraced on her handicap debut in January and she could pose the biggest threat to the selection, ahead of Sea Of Marmoon and Cold War Steve.
