He still has a very bright future, though, and the slight cut back in trip and return to turf is in his favour. Tomfre and Surf Dancer found the Horris Hill too hot to handle, and will appreciate this test more. Corvair has relatively recent match practice on his side following an all-weather hat-trick, while Grove Ferry goes for his own three-timer on the back of an absence. Throw Huboor, Gifted Ruler and Mr Kiki into the mix too.

John Gosden saddles three runners as he bids to win this race for the third time in four years and his MISS YODA looks like the one that they all have to beat. This daughter of Sea The Stars did nothing but improve as a juvenile, winning her first two starts before finishing runner-up in the Group 3 Zetland Stakes at Newmarket. She is likely to be even better this year and today's extra distance shouldn't bother her. Stablemate's Lake Lucerne and Anastarsia also warrant respect but the bigger danger might be Heart Reef, who impressed on debut before struggling on the Rowley Mile at HQ. Now faced with a faster surface and a more conventional track, she deserves another chance.

A big run from Miss Yoda in the previous race would boost the claims of BERKSHIRE ROCCO, who was just three-parts of a length behind the former when finishing third in last season's Group 3 Zetland Stakes. He is already proven on fast ground and is likely to improve for stretching out in trip, so a bold bid looks assured on his seasonal reappearance. Sound Of Cannons also ran well in Group company as a juvenile and ought to figure prominently on his return, while hat-trick seeking King Carney merits respect despite having to concede 3lb to all of his rivals.

CRIMEWAVE clearly likes it here, winning twice and finishing third on his last three starts at the track, and he can play a leading role on his return to action. Although unproven beyond 1m2f, Tom Clover's charge certainly wasn't stopping when successful over 1m2f last time and he looks capable of defying a 4lb rise. Imperium ended last year in terrific form and is sure to prove popular representing powerful connections, while Brighton Pier and Capone, who is better known for his NH exploits, are other names to note.

Plenty of these arrives here with valid form claims but none more so than SILVER DUST, who was an impressive winner over this trip at Kempton in March. A 5lb rise for that success appears to be fair and he may still have more improvement left to come. The Game Is On was a bit disappointing when last seen but his previous form is very encouraging and it is far too soon to be writing him off. Fortune And Glory edges out Hunni to be the pick of the remainder.

ENGLISHMAN was in outstanding form on the all-weather earlier in the year, winning three times, and a 5lb rise for his most recent victory may not be enough to stop the veteran from taking this contest. Griggy was only just denied when last seen at Kempton and that followed an impressive success at Chelmsford. Others to consider are Royal Dynasty, Real Estate and Sword Exceed.

JOVIAL progressed with every start as a juvenile and she was last seen defying a penalty to take a novice contest over 6f at Newcastle in September. An opening mark of 84 appears to be fair for the daughter of Dubawi, especially as she is bred to improve as a three-year-old. River Nymph has a similar profile to the selection and she could prove to be the main threat, ahead of National League and Angel Grey.
