The daughter of No Nay Never cost 120,000 euros as a yearling and can make an immediate return on the investment. Talking Point wasn't quite so expensive but still went for 36,000gns, and James Tate has already had a winning two-year-old. It will be interesting to see what the market makes of Captain Bonny, who is bred for a bit further.

Excellent George saves his best for Chelmsford and appeared to be edging back towards the winner's enclosure when last seen in February. Rock Boy Grey and Eljaddaaf were also in good order on the all-weather earlier in the year, but a chance is taken on the fitness of ATALANTA'S BOY. The David Menuisier-trained gelding more than paid his way as he progressed through the ranks last term and although signing off with a Newbury disappointment and now tackling an artificial surface for the first time, he should have even more to offer. Alnasherat is also respected on his debut for James Tate.

There was strong support for Avenue Of Stars prior to his debut for Mick Appleby, only for him to trail home last. It may be that he didn't like the Southwell Fibresand but he is one to be wary of for now and is passed over in favour of KATH'S LUSTRE, who held her form well all through the winter and seems the safer option. Good Answer appears to have two ways of running but is contender if on a going day.

THREE C'S has won three of his last four outings, finishing second in the other, and even though they all came at Southwell, he has won at Lingfield twice before so this surface shouldn't be an issue. Roca Magica may have had to settle for third at Lingfield last time but she has won three times at this venue already in 2020, so has to be considered a danger. Misu Pete sprung a 40/1 surprise at Kempton in March, but needs to prove that wasn't a fluke.

DISCO FEVER showed improvement in between runs over 7f last year, winning by five lengths at Lingfield in December. This extra furlong is expected to yield further progress from John Gosden's filly, who is taken to defy a penalty and follow up. C&D winner Fantail is another giving weight away to consider. Of the maidens in the line-up, Award Scheme, who overcame greenness to finish a creditable third at HQ last summer, is feared most.

MARIA ROSA shaped with an abundance of promise first time out at Newcastle in October, finishing a neck second to Fooraat over 7f. This extra furlong and first-time cheekpieces are reasons to expect the selection to go one better now she has the benefit of a run behind her and is in receipt of 7lb from her conqueror. Bound For Heaven is progressing between runs for Karl Burke and could take a hand too if overcoming her wide draw.

FUCHSIA improved between runs over 6f in the spring and is expected to come on for the step up to 7f now making her handicap debut off a mark of 64. River Sprite shaped encouragingly on debut at Kempton, albeit over 6f, and appears to be fairly treated off 63, while it will be interesting to see if there is any money for Falconidae, who is sporting a first-time hood and debuts for a new stable.

SCORCHED BREATH makes just his third start since being in the care of Rebecca Menzies, improving from his first to second appearance. He has since undergone wind surgery, which could potentially unlock another gear, and is fancied to play a leading role. Gavi Di Gavi is better than showing over an extended 1m at Wolverhampton last time and this drop in trip might help him return to form, while Southwell regular Fieldsman cannot be ruled out either.

TONE THE BARONE has impressively notched a course-and-distance double and, despite a further 5lb rise, he looks the one to beat under Silvestre De Sousa. Red Stripes also likes it here, winning seven times at the Essex venue, and he must enter calculations competing off bottom weight, while Abel Handy could be worth a market check having joined David O'Meara (from Declan Carroll) since his latest fourth at Wolverhampton in December.

MAYFAIR SPIRIT got the better of Amjaady (second) when winning on his latest start over course and distance in September and he could confirm form with that rival en route to following up. The latter has placed twice again since and is likely to give another good account, while there are plenty of others with claims including Rhosneigr, a hurdle winner when last sighted, and Andrew Balding's Barossa Red. He's rarely too far from the mark and goes well fresh.
