SKY COMMANDER looked a smart prospect when he sluiced up at Kempton in December, and there could be more improvement to come now he stretches out to 1m for the first time. James Tate won the Palace House at Newmarket on Saturday, so his horses are seemingly in good nick, and he gets a confident vote while that dominant display at Kempton remains fresh in the memory. Youthful has been off the track since he was pulled up at Wolverhampton in May last year but did win at the Midlands track before that and is interesting. Others expected to go well are Magical Morning and New Chapter.

The three-year-old will probably be ridden close to the pace once more, and could take advantage of this unchanged mark. Surrajah was successful at Chelmsford just before Christmas and probably found the following event at Lingfield coming too soon when down the field, while Sepia Belle is worth mentioning wearing first-time blinkers for a trainer who does well here.
