A half-brother to seven winners (from 5f to 1m), he made a promising debut when runner-up over 6f at Newcastle earlier in the month and, with that experience expected to bring him on, he looks to have been found a good opportunity now upped to 7f against a field of newcomers. The pick of the debutants appears to be the Kevin Ryan-trained Infant Hercules and My Best Friend, who cost 40,000 pounds and is a half-brother to some decent sorts.

KILIG has leading claims after a promising comeback run at Wolverhampton last week, when hitting the front two furlongs from home but not quite seeing out the extended 1m1f trip. Racing off the same mark and entitled to strip fitter for that run, Tim Easterby's charge looks set for a bold bid with this drop back to 7f likely to suit. Moonlighting showed ability in three qualifying runs over 6f last year and is very interesting on his handicap/seasonal debut off a fair-looking mark of 60, while Got The T Shirt has slipped to that same rating and could take closer now he sneaks in off joint-top weight.

LICIT stepped up on her debut when flashing home for a one-length second over this trip at Kempton in the autumn and any further progress gives him a big shout on his reappearance. This may not be easy, though, with Poet's Lady showing ability in both of her starts over 6f last year and likely to appreciate this extra yardage, while Red Poppy looked green when well supported first time out in November and should have more to offer now. Godolphin newcomer Solar Flame is a half-sister to five winners and warrants the utmost respect.

Scorched Breath was doing his best work at the finish when second over 7f at Wolverhampton and Chelmsford on his last two starts and is sure to have his supporters now upped to a mile, but he has it to prove on turf and remains a maiden after 13 starts. Of more appeal is THE BIG HOUSE, a C&D winner who returned with a promising third over 1m at Newcastle at the start of the month and he should come on for that pipe-opener, with the return to grass also in his favour. Dreamseller and Roaring Forties have slipped to handy marks and could figure prominently.

Aiden's Reward has been raised 3lb for scoring over this trip at Newcastle in February and is expected to mount another bold bid, though preference is for EL JEFE, who left behind his novice form when third on his nursery bow at Pontefract in October, a performance on which he's entitled to build this afternoon. Bankawi is rated 4lb higher than when scoring over 7f at Catterick last summer but it is possible there could be more improvement to come from her over this longer trip.

BLAZING HOT lost little in defeat when second over this trip on debut at Newcastle and is expected to put the experience gained that day to good use to strike second time out. Continental cost 240,000 pounds as a yearling and made her debut behind a smart, experienced winner at Newcastle earlier in the month. She should take a forward step now she has the benefit of that run behind her and appears the main danger ahead of Bay Filly Rolla, Quick Recap and Sendacard, all of whom showed promise as juveniles.

Easterby sends out an interesting contender against her again in the shape of newcomer Pattaya, who changed hands for 375,000gns as a yearling and is a half-sister to four sprint winners. Seas Of Elzaam has place claims if running to his mark, while Richard Fahey's newcomer Unapologetic merits a market check.

ALMURR failed to see out the trip when fading into fourth over 7f at Chelmsford in February and could relish the return to sprinting this afternoon. Phillip Makin's charge remains only 3lb higher than when scoring at Wolverhampton over this trip in January and gets the nod. Mr Wagyu has dropped 16lb lower than his last winning mark and is dangerously treated ahead of his seasonal return, while there could be more to come from recent Newcastle scorer Quanah.

KLOPP was sent off favourite on her return to action at Lingfield last week and although she could finish no better than fourth, she's entitled to strip fitter for that outing and take a forward step. Kyllachy Warrior has been knocking on the door off this mark on the all-weather and could feasibly play a supporting role, while there could also be big runs on the cards from Van Gerwen, Mythical Spirit and Suwaan if they are ready for their comeback outings. Indian Sounds, with the benefit of a recent run, looks the pick of the Paul Midgley sextet.

Cool Possibility won over 1m6f and 2m at Southwell in the spring and is fitted with first-time blinkers as he bids to complete a hat-trick. Over this shorter trip, however, it may be worth siding with SUDONA, who went close over 1m2f recently and has often left the impression she'd be worth a try over 1m4f. 132-rated hurdler Solo Saxophone could be on a nice Flat mark on his first run for Ben Haslam and is worth monitoring closely in the betting.
