NAWAFETH is a hopeful pick to win on debut in an ordinary maiden. From a fine family, she is the fourth foal from a dam whose two runners have both win with a half-brother winning at Listed level and carries a speculative Group 1 Pretty Polly entry. While that may be a fanciful prospect over 1m2f, she could have useful ability. Eden Quay ran a promising race on debut at Naas last September but was weak in the mark when disappointing badly at Navan last week. However she did return with a veterinary excuse then (unusually she was reported to have suffered 'speedy cuts on both hind legs') and while much more can be expected today, she nonetheless comes here with plenty to prove. Musical Rue finished in front of Eden Quay in that Navan race and while Musical Rue is no star, she can be relied upon to run a solid race and should be involved at the business end. Treasure Today, out of a Galileo-sired dam, cost 18,000 euros as a yearling and is a half-sister to five winners.

PRINCIPALSHIP might make a winning reappearance on his first attempt at this trip. He showed nice ability when running consistently well in each of his runs over 5f last year and while the step up to 6.5 furlongs is a concern today, he is no longer a juvenile and can be expected to get a little further, and also seems fairly ground-versatile. War Leader, a half-brother to Excelebration and a brother to Lancaster Bomber, did run at this trip last year and while he appears limited, did at least run consistently last year and there might not be much between him and the selection. Stalingrad was a 220,000gns yearling purchase, is out of a 6f Group 3 winning dam who is herself closely related to Rumpelstiltskin and is a very notable newcomer. Grey Streak, by Dark Angel, is closely related to three smart Group performers and while he too could go well, is already gelded which is a possible negative. Lake Sand, similarly gelded, was a 38,000-euros yearling buy and is related to some useful winners.

FUNNY LITTLE WAYS is 10lb higher than when winning at Dundalk in February, but is related to some useful types including prolific sprinter George Bowen and might progress again. Her recent run at Leopardstown can be disregarded as her rider had difficulties with his tack. Ohio State and Sable Camp are both well-bred types who haven't shown a lot to date, but can't be ruled out at this level, with the latter now tried in first-time blinkers. Eglish has gone up a lot in the ratings after rattling up a hat-trick on all-weather tracks early in the year, while Slade Runner was unlucky in running last week at Leopardstown but needs to break better than when a running-on fourth at Fairyhouse on Monday.

A classy contest with five of the field rated between 99 and 101. WOODY CREEK was a progressive filly last season and was competitive at Group 3 level. She may have been on the wrong side of the track when well behind Royal Ascot-bound Sceptical at Naas last week, but should be sharper for the outing. Juvenile listed winner No Nay Never showed up well for a long way in that same contest, and has claims if building on that having been lightly-raced last season. Laugh A Minute was a very capable sprinter for Roger Varian and may reverse Dundalk form with San Andreas on his second start for Ado McGuinness, while Real Force showed up well in the Group 2 Railway Stakes behind Siskin almost a year ago but has been absent since and faces a stiff task against his elders.

GLOBAL PASS was touched off at Killarney in 2018 off a stone higher mark, and ran his best race since when staying on well for third behind Lady Savanah at Leopardstown last week. He can confirm the form with the fourth on that occasion, Maggie Thunder, and gain a first career success for local trainer Richard O'Brien. Reddiac was in action the same day at Leopardstown when running fifth to Palabres, which was a pleasing first start in Ireland having been placed over 10f a couple of times last term for Ed Dunlop. After four wins on all-weather surfaces, Mulzamm gained a first win on turf when scoring at Gowran Park last week and can be competitive under his penalty, while Kinch is a reliable sort at this level and has claims having enjoyed a productive winter season at Dundalk.

Unraced at two, PONDUS achieved a rating of 107 in his three-year-old campaign for James Fanshawe. He ran creditably behind the likes of Addeyb and Desert Encounter at Group 3 level and can make a winning start for new trainer Joseph O'Brien. Simsir was a surprise winner of a maiden on debut at Cork last term when beating a better-fancied stablemate and followed up at Dundalk. He performed well in three outings at Meydan in the early part of this year, culminating in a win over 10f in February. Up in trip as he tries Stakes company for the first time, he's open to more improvement. Bold Approach has a few pounds to find with a couple of these, but ran very well over an inadequate trip last week at Navan and might have a fitness edge as a result, while Long Arm is a promising unbeaten gelding but is up markedly in class here.

It's interesting that Ger Lyons is persevering with LANCASTRIA after a disappointing end to his three-year-old season. The Cape Cross gelding would have every chance on his second to subsequent Queen's Vase fifth Eminent Authority at Killarney last May (third and fourth in that maiden both winners since) but didn't match that form in his final two starts of 2019. The others in here with Flat marks are closely matched, including useful hurdlers Born By The Sea and Rasiym, while Rayanpour (taken out at Fairyhouse on Monday due to fast ground) was consistent last year and should have more to offer. Dublin Racing Festival winner and Coral Cup third Thosedaysaregone is a very smart hurdler and might be one for a big handicap on the Flat after this run, while Belfast Banter has shown plenty in bumpers and over hurdles and could make into a nice type in this discipline.
