UK Horse Racing Tips: Tipperary

Measure Of Magic (from another in-form stable) and Aloha Star (well-fancied in the betting on debut) both ran respectably behind likely Queen Mary favourite More Beautiful at Naas last week, and the latter can improve if settling better on this occasion. Mooniesta ran very well against some rivals from top yards at Navan, while Mulan Valour (a 50,000 Euros yearling purchase) and Herb Of Grace (a half-sister to the stable's smart performer Euphrasia) are both capable of a bold show on their first starts.

The dam of SWISS ACE has produced a remarkable eleven winners and this Kingman colt bids to make a winning debut having been an expensive purchase at the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale at Newmarket. Of those that have run, Tar Heel acquitted himself well when fourth to Chief Little Hawk at Navan, with the winner running 7th of 18 in Wednesday's Windsor Castle Stakes. Joseph O'Brien's representative is himself a half-brother to six winners including useful sprinter Burwaaz. Cursory Exam, from a stable going well and a half-brother to a 10f winner, might be best of the others although with his dam being by Generous, the minimum distance will quite likely be on the sharp side for him.

Denis Hogan runs three in this sprint handicap and BOUGHTINTHEDARK might be able to follow up her easy win at Navan, despite a sharp hike in the weights. With the ground forecast to be on the easy side, a high draw might be advantageous for the daughter of Dandy Man. Stablemate Bahlwan goes well through his races, and should be better for his comeback third at the Curragh last weekend. Navan runner-up Sestriere gets a big pull in the weights with the selection and that brings her into the argument. Blast Of Magic was dropped in front on the line to win his most recent outing but the pick of his form is on fast ground, while other last time out winners Polly Douglas and Teddy Boy have long absences to overcome.

PRIMO UOMO has dropped nearly a stone in the ratings since the early part of last season, and with a 10lb claimer who's ridden a couple of winners on board as well, he might take advantage of this drop in class. The eight-year-old is ground versatile and his trainer is going well. The other O'Leary runner Aloysius Lilius had a good winter on the all-weather and had useful form on turf last year. He's going the right way. For The Trees won the valuable Birdcatcher Nursery at Naas last year but might prefer a stiffer test than this sharp five furlongs, while Mokhalad ran well at Naas in March and should be sharper for his run at Gowran Park last week. King Of Stars showed a lot of pace in a couple of easy ground maidens last year, and is obviously open to plenty of improvement.

Several of these have shown maiden-winning potential and GIN BLOSSOM gets the vote having been runner-up in both starts last term. Beaten just a head on debut in a big field at the Curragh, she was turned over at odds-on next time at Gowran but the filly that beat her was a Group 3 winner on her next start. Paddy Twomey has a couple of winners on the board already, and Sunday Sweet ran well in two outings last year, particularly when a hampered fourth to Albigna at the Curragh. Bestrella was just touched off in what looked a fair maiden at Gowran last week, while Koola Buala had plenty behind her when a promising fourth on her sole start at two at the Curragh, and like the selection holds an Irish Oaks entry.

TURBO COMMAND has been knocking on the door and may be able to gained a deserved success here. The War Command gelding has been in the money four times at Dundalk and a mark of 80 looks enough to win a race of this standard. He met some trouble in running early in the race when last seen on the all-weather in January and his best showing was probably his previous effort when losing out by just a neck to Hieroglyphic. Another son of War Command looks the danger here with War Flight entitled to improve from his debut effort at Dundalk in February. He stayed on nicely then to finish third to cosy winner United Front and could step forward. Three Sevens was only a length-and-a-quarter off Turbo Command at Dundalk in January but didn't run up to the same level back at the venue the following month.

TRISH'S COMPANY was very green when winning at Dundalk last November and looks like a filly that could find a fair bit of improvement this season. The daughter of Fast Company carried her head a bit awkwardly when coming between horses to launch her challenge but showed a nice turn of foot to get up close home. Judged on a couple of those in behind her then a mark of 67 is attractive for her handicap debut. Tashman was all out to score at Roscommon on Monday but could still be competitive here despite a 5lb rise. The Joseph O'Brien-trained Ubume has hinted at ability in maidens and may be able to make an impression here off a mark of 69 on her handicap debut.

Stepping up in trip here may do the trick for WATERVILLE LADY. She plugged on to finish fourth to stable-mate Bella Brazil at Gowran last week and despite being speedily bred it looked then like she would appreciate a bit further. She seems to be versatile ground wise and wouldn't be winning out of turn after some solid efforts. We'll Go Again was a progressive sort last season, winning twice, and it was a decent effort to finish fifth off this mark when he was last seen at the Curragh in a competitive heat. Luke McAteer's 7lb helps ease his burden of top-weight and he could be the danger. The unexposed Silvertown looks one to note in the market on his handicap debut.
