BE PROUD ran better than the result would suggest when sent off favourite at Newcastle earlier this month and should prove popular once again off the same mark, with the rise from 5f no issue. Jim Goldie often tastes success here and his four-year-old is a consistent performer. Mr Wagyu made the podium at Thirsk last week and is respected off the same rating, while the veteran B Fifty Two could surprise if tuned up for this reappearance.

All-weather specialist NATIONAL ANTHEM was a winner three times on the synthetics this winter and the five-year-old could take plenty of beating if able to transfer that form to turf. Tanasoq missed the break at Doncaster last weekend, but the C&D winner has to be respected off a mark just 1lb higher than his last victory. Eeh Bah Gum and Call Me Ginger are others to finish down the field on their reappearance, but will have appreciated clearing the lungs and could show improvement. Wentworth Falls has the chance to build on his encouraging recent Newmarket fourth.

Michael Dods is no stranger to success with sprinting fillies and holds all the aces with QUE AMORO and Queens Gift. Preference is for the former, who followed up a pair of York victories with a narrow defeat in a Listed contest here to finish off her 2019 campaign. Queens Gift was runner-up in both the Beverley Bullet and the Scarbrough Stakes last term, and the Darlington handler could saddle the one-two. Mrs Bouquet disappointed at Goodwood but this might be more suitable, with Irish raiders Allez Sophia and American Lady also requiring a market check.

Oakenshield had everything in his favour when striking at Newcastle over 6f earlier in the month and his pedigree suggests that this extra furlong should suit. An 11lb rise looks extremely harsh, though, and he might be worth taking on at the likely prices with Richard Fahey's BOND'S BOY. Third in a valuable sales race at Newmarket in October before a promising Tapeta return, the three-year-old will appreciate this return to turf and also the additional yardage. Macho Time can prove best of the remainder.

TADLEEL wasn't unbacked when scoring on his first start for Richard Fahey and a 3lb rise doesn't look too harsh for that success. The five-year-old won't mind stepping up from 7f and based on what he did last year, might still be fairly treated. Caustic Love outran his odds to finish third in a decent event at Doncaster last time out, while Markazi isn't easy to catch right but returns to the scene of his only UK success so far.

Dark Lochnagar was just outstayed when second in a jumpers' bumper at Newcastle earlier in the year and should appreciate a stronger pace over a shorter distance. Hot Team wasn't disgraced when fourth in a competitive Haydock handicap and could have more to offer on his second start for Richard Fahey, but Ben Haslam has made a solid start to the season and SANDRET would appreciate fast ground. He remains relatively unexposed and this step back up in trip should really suit.
